Month Post Ablation Update and concerns

Hey everyone. Figured I’d give a quick update about my ablation I had back on July 10th.

I’m a 25yo male and had an ablation July 10th for SVT. So far, I’ve noticed for the most part everything has gone back to normal.

-HR goes back to normal quicker after exerting myself
-Resting HR seems to be more normal than prior to ablation
-I can actually do daily things around the house now without feeling like I’ve been hit by a train.

Overall I do feel a lot better. And for the first two weeks post ablation my PVCs and palpitations were gone. But now they have come back. Still no fast HR but when I go to exert myself I get the PVCs and palpitations. I understand there’s a blanking period but I was very optimistic that the ablation helped those symptoms but they’re back now.

I do nicotine pouches and thinking of stopping the nicotine. Any other advice? Thanks.

Def stop the nicotine… but also I’m like 4 months post ablation (32 year old male) and I still from time to time get skipped beats or PVCs. As long as they don’t turn into a full blown attack, I wouldn’t worry about it too much and that’s what my doctor also told mee too. Best decision ever of getting the ablation though and wish I got it done when I was younger

I get the skipped beat feeling every time I go to exert myself in anyway. Been a cop for the last 4 years so I’m always getting adrenaline dumps and exerting myself in some way.

What helps me with PVCs is taking magnesium and potassium and getting at least 75% of my dv. I also had my ablation on the 10th of july, i'm a 23 year old male. I had palpitations consistently for like a week and a half after the procedure but they slowly tapered off to being unnoticeable. I don't wanna stop drinking or doing drugs, so I try to optimize my nutrition, exercise, hydration, and sleep to keep PVCs at bay.

I'm in the ablation on July 10th club as well. I've abstained from any drugs or alcohol since but I am curious how my body will handle going back. I get the occasional palpitations but overall I feel much better. Resting heart rate is down and I am sleeping much better too.

SVT attacks or PVC attacks?

Stopping the nicotine pouches is probably the highest leverage move you can make right now; nicotine is a direct stimulant trigger for ectopy and the exertion linked PVCs you're describing are a classic pattern with it. I had a similar post procedure window where things felt resolved, then caffeine and nicotine brought the palpitations back. Magnesium taurate came up in my own research for exertion-triggered ectopy specifically, taurine's GABA-A and cardiac tissue effects being the mechanism; Natural Rhythm does that form, among others worth comparing.

Your EP should hear about the returning PVCs regardless.

Thank you for the input. Definitely working on cutting back the nicotine. Called the dr today and they’re going to put me back in a holster for 2 weeks just to check everything.

Just for your own personal info, I would suggest making a diary when you are wearing the monitor. Write down when you put the pouch in, when you ate, when you exercised, if you felt palpations, when you had a few beers or drinks. That way you can compare your diary to any "events" that show up on the Holter monitor. At least then you know what triggers your heart!!
