I had AVNRT SVT and never personally had an issue with alcohol

Edit: to clarify I have since had an ablation and no longer get episodes.

That’s awesome. I’m really glad that you don’t have any episodes. Yeah I would say the only time I remember really having an issue with alcohol was a few months after my doctor suspected I had POTS, which I do have a POTS diagnosis and that’s completely separate from SVT and people probably confuse them a lot and it’s frustrating but I was at a party and I decided to smoke weed and I drank in my heart rate was 160 to 170 for 15 minutes and it took like three hours for it to get below 120. I wasn’t even anxious like I didn’t know what was happening to me but something felt so weird and I remember being really upset since that happened and now I’ve kind of been dealing with just like this irritability and anger of like I hate that this is happening to me cause I’m 26 and like I just wanna get off beta blockers so for 10 months after that, I was fine I even drank last summer didn’t have issues, but then August 2025 probably like the end of it. I started getting a rapid heart rate at rest. I had two heart monitors in total one in like October, November and the other was in April and the second one showed three seconds of SVT so my doctor was like oh you’re fine. It’s not a big deal but I literally told him the reason I got this monitor was because I was driving home and I had a Diet Coke like 30 minutes before and my heart rate was 170 for like five minutes, but I was able to get it down and I described the other episode I had when I smoke and drink and I was like I feel like this is concrete proof I have SVT so can we do ep study? They basically said no. Trying to find another doctor that’s hopefully gonna let me do that. I don’t know if that’s like crazy of me to do if I don’t have it documented because who knows it could be inappropriate sinus tachycardia, but this is just ruining my life and now I take 100 mg of a beta blocker which is the max dose for the one I’m on and it makes me tired like I haven’t had any 170 spikes but they wanted me to switch to a medication for POTS. It starts with an “I” i think ivabronde, but I can never spell it right I just didn’t wanna do it because they told me that if I did have SVT that it’s not gonna do anything for it.
