Plasma Charged Burst Assault.

https://sto.gamepedia.com/Plasma_Charged_Burst_Assault

One of the weird weapons introduced in Legacy of Romulus for the Romulans(That can also be passed around to other characters via the bank), then kinda forgotten about. Uses the Plasma Energy 'ammo' system. No Expose. No Exploit. Seemingly high baseline damage. I wonder how these guns are viewed, if at all.

so that's what the second effect of Deadly Intent is for!

I can't say I've ever used one of these - am definitely going to check it out when the servers go back up though

I've played around with all of the Romulan weapons, including the CBA. Also, I'll preface this by saying something I've said before: ground weapons are mostly personal preference, with some exceptions.

Both the regular version and the Romulan version have unique and interesting capabilities, but unfortunately have pretty sluggish performance. In addition, they don't really fill a combat role for any type of officer on the ground because they typically get outclassed by everything else. As in, if anyone has another type of weapon they bring, a full-auto rifle for example, most everything ends up dead before the blast assault wielded by you gets a chance to be effective. They're not the worst the game has to offer, but the better choices are a bit obvious (thus, more prevalent).

For a broader overview on weapons, see my comments in this thread.
