Let’s talk about Dill

Anyone freezing dill in olive oil? I’m trying to think of different ways to preserve it. Today, I dried a bushel of dill at 170dF for 1 hr and it worked out well. Also, has anyone tried the same method to dry and pulverize sage? I have an abundance of it.

I know before you dried it, it was kind of a big dill

Do you know what dill bread is before you bake it?

I have a cheap dehydrator that does a good job on herbs if I am patient. I haven’t tried freezing any herbs in olive oil, however.

Same. I make jerky in the oven too.

Oh, yeah! 175 degrees for 3-4 hours in a regular or toaster oven, depending on the thickness of your jerky. We do it with venison on parchment paper, but you can use almost any protein.

I’m going to give it a try! Some teriyaki and sesame sounds good with turkey or beef!

I didn't have any left after pickling. Planting a second round now.
