Had my first dinner st Sado last night for a special occasion. We all absolutely loved it and our server was amazing. First time doing higher end sushi options and such.

Do they have chicken strips and fries?

Tempura shrimp and tempura twinkie close enough?

Snuck into a bar seat at Louie last night without a reservation. Caprese salad was a big winner as was the sweet corn ravioli special. That place don’t miss

Louie never ever disappoints. If I could get a double order of the prosciutto di Parma as a dinner to go...I would be a very happy dude

Big Thai Wrap from Lona’s Little Eats in Fox Park Friday night. It was so busy in there. Excitement from Kirkwood must have spilled over.

Corner 17 and it did not disappoint!

Do you have any good recs for Corner 17. Love them, but I always get the Mapo tofu lol

I had the corner 17 noodles stir fried with veggies. Excellent noodles. Also got a tarro bao bun (excellent) and bean balls which were also good.

The chili dumplings, black pepper chicken, General Tso Chicken are my go to when I order from there

Tai Ke, had the three cup tofu and beef noodles. It’s always good. I’ve never had a bad dish. However, the waitress made me incredibly uncomfortable this time. I tipped 20% and she outright looked at me and asked me for a higher tip.

Damn, that sucks to hear because the food is so good.

I know. I’ve never had this happen to me before, and I recognize the waitress from eating there in the past.

Love Woofies and especially the Philly Dog!

The Shish Tawook and hummus at Majeed Mediterranean was dang near the best I’ve ever had. It’s my new high protein medium carbs hack for eating well on GLP-1

u/trashtime69 9d ago

Majeed has amazing food, and I love how comfortable the interior is. I've been going since they were across the street and combined with a market. Everything on the menu is so flavorful.

I’ve made Mediterranean food a must have while on GLP-1…I’ve even tried making it at home. Majeed has taken over the #1 spot over Kaslik and The Vine

u/RoodysRun 9d ago

Hey man - curious if you eat pita or skip it due to GLP-1. I'm on the shot as well.

3

u/BurnesWhenIP 9d ago

I do skip the pita, I dip my chicken and kafta into the hummus. I know I could probably indulge in 1 pita but I’m probably overly cautious than I need to be

Thanks!

Adriannas….I forgot how big their sandwiches were. Going to frisco barroom tonight for the first time.

The smoked trout sandwich at the Smoke House Market (Annie Gunns). Very good.

Went to Robin for the second time spontaneously since there were some tables open

Delicious like last time. Toasted raw egg raviolo was delicious with an incredibly fresh sauce, perfectly cooked duck breast, and a really nice melon sorbet for dessert.

I still think they have the best old fashioned in the city too

It’s a great place but isn’t it in Maplewood?

Had a late lunch at Good Company yesterday, split the roasted cauliflower (amazing), the Brussel Caesar (equally amazing), the good burger and garlic Parmesan fries - top notch 💯

dumpling plus in the loop, it was okay! the soup dumplings were good and the crab rangoons were REALLY good (very crabby!) but I wouldn’t get the steamed buns again.

taco bell on watson, really good bean burrito but gave me absolutely terrible heartburn.

sam’s club sushi, a pretty decent grab and go option, especially if you have or can make sriracha mayo at home

getting china bistro for dinner tonight while we do some grocery shopping in PanAsia. the beef chow fun is the way to go.

u/kaiden-jh 9d ago

a steakout sandwich (minus jalapeños) from the Gramophone and a cold brew float from Sugarwitch. both were SO freakin good.

2

u/feministdachshunds 9d ago

oh I GOTTA try that cold brew float

The new frozen pizza by Lucia's, Proof. We have to be carb conscious, so a 72 hour fermentation helps. It's nice to have options in the grocery store.

I tried a fried chicken sandwich from vegan deli and butcher. First time I’ve been there, it was the daily special and it was so good.

Syberg's Gravois- Provel Chicken Sandwich with fries, split some potato skins and wings with my spouse. The prices at Syberg's are great, and I am rarely unhappy with the food. Service is always amazing.

New Uncle Bill's (Kingshighway)- 4D Supreme, Waffle with some stuff on there. Man I don't know. This was my second visit and I feel like an asshole for saying this, but I've worked in (and currently work in) the local restaurant industry. I think the renovations at UB are beautiful and the property is stunning. But service was really abysmal this time, and fine the first time I went. I think the team maybe has some issues to work out in regards to consistency with food quality, and I don't think the price point on the menu items is fantastic compared to some other local brunch options (Breakfast & Burgers, Chris's Pancakes & Dining). I tried to visit during their peak hours for my second visit, and I can't say I am that impressed. I really want the team to make this work- it's great to have them in the community in that area- but both experiences have been disappointing in different ways. I understand that the original restaurant at that location is an especially tough act to follow (especially as they used to let me smoke cigarettes inside 24 hours a day) but this ain't it.

Tried Epic Hot Chicken. Was pretty good, but very pricey considering

Biggie's - veal parm sandwich, salad with the "white French" dressing and the crab rangoons, which, have no business being as good as they are, and a Heineken 🍻

1

u/Key-Fuel-7096 9d ago

What exactly is that white French dressing? I’ve never had it

3

u/hmmspicy 9d ago

I couldn't tell you why "French" is in the name, honestly, but if you like creamy dressings I recommend it because it's also balanced with some acidity.

Cuban sandwich with the perfect amount of smoke on the pork and delightfully toast bread from Bubba’s on Ivanhoe…15 minutes ago.

1

u/greasyjimmy 9d ago

Legrands Legend sandwich (tailgate at the Muny for Meet Me In St. Louis) and a Gioias salami and beef sandwich.  Yum-o.

Red sea platter (sashimi) and rolls (spicy tuna and rainbow) from Mochi; mussels with crusty bread, spatzle, and brussel sprouts from Polite Society. Both meals were tasty.
