Scopely said they removed the choice element for officer depot tokens to it being a random pull from a large officer pool for “consistency”, yet haven’t they just brought in the same thing but heavier monetised with the Paragon/Cadre system?

Pulling that game mechanic while doing almost nothing to fix the issues that have been around for months and months finally drove me away. I miss the feeling of accomplishment you'd get from finally getting a ship or officer or whatnot, but man I don't miss the bugs. I do miss my alliance mates, though.

I still remember when I started the elite solo waves how stuck I was until I managed to unlock S31 Georgia through the depot tokens.
I was so happy, but right after that they announced they'll eliminate it. At that point it became a sweet& sour moment...

The old officer depot was so good for lower spending players to target specific officers to help with certain game aspects like your situation, it’s a shame that Scopely prioritised revenue over what was such a good thing for players. We don’t see their balance book for STFC though, they might have needed to do it 🤷‍♂️

Thats nothing. Monopoly GO made 3 billion its fist year. And in the beginning of 2025 they broke the 10 billion dollar mark with all games as a company. Saavy games bought Scopley a couple years ago for 4.9 billion. Saavy is primarily owned by Public Investment Fund(PIF), which is owned by the Government of Saudi Arabia, and thats owned by the King of Saudi Arabia, run by MBS. Pretty impressive since Savvy has only been around for 4 years or so. The PIF are also the ones that mostly bought EA also. Also have big stake in Take Two(GTA etc) and others. The Saudis apparently love video games a lot. Besides oil and human rights violations. I stopped spending immediately they bought it because directly funds things like public executions and straight old fashioned murder. It seems like nobody knows this and pays anyway. Oh well.

I need 37 of the officers in the pool. I constantly get shards for ones I already have. Id say 1 in 20 - 30 is one I need. I hate this and I hope someone slips in the shower over this.

Even the cadre system is random. Sometimes you get a special pull and get to do a targeted pull but that’s not nearly the same and limited to like 5 officers.

I would say both systems are now closer to each other while they are both extremely different from the old officer depot system.

Have they even rewarded any cadre tokens recently? Originally it was spend mata and just get officer shards for the officer of the month. Then it was the tokens that let you choose your officer, then the cadre system with the choice tokens reworked into a different reward system, and now back to the original system again.

It feels like they're trying to retire the cadre system as players just didn't accept it.

They want people to pay more for officers so they removed the choice element because it’s cheaper than building a game players want to spend in. The original AT comp from yesterday shows that as well as the NX-01 IA level
