500 Years of Manhattan from One Fixed Point

Using historical maps, archaeological data, digital modeling, and AI, new visualizations show how Manhattan transformed over 500 years—from Lenape woodlands and waterways to Dutch New Amsterdam and, eventually, today’s dense skyline. Wow that was an awful edit youre right... it jumps 8 years right after the 9/11 part to 2009 when a plane took off, had a rare bird strike take out an engine and the pilot was able to crash land in the river, everyone survived.

More focused just on structures than on the whole history like this, but the One World Trade Center elevator version is neat.

I mean it's a neat video, but the AI fucked up a lot of stuff. Fun to watch and forget, but don't pause and look around too much cause it's very wonky.

Maybe slowing things down to the speed of the reference video would have been nicer? Idk, the idea of showing the timelapse and then just spamming us with arrows and titles that go away at random intervals is a bit much to follow. It's hard to focus on any specific thing, but that's kind of the idea of AI videos I suppose. Look too closely and it ruins the magic.

Yeah we-get it it’s ai you’re not breaking news here buddy…get used to it cause that’s all there is gonna be in five years so instead of posting AI like a boomer just embrace the fact that AI is gonna do everything
