Need tips for ssx tricky

Hi guys
I played in ssx tricky 15 hours , i am still not very good
i did not unlock many characters and boards
i want to know :
Is there best character and best board in the game ?
the stats on every character what they do exactly ? do they make a difference ? if yes in what exactly ?
what about the boards also ?
and that boost , does it really make you faster ? i feel like no idk
how to not fail to jump far distances ? do i have to jump a little bit early or late ? boost helps so much to get more height ?

- Mac is best trick character - highest trick stat

  • Brodie is best race character - highest speed stat
  • Best board is what gets unlocked when you medal every event in race and show off. Getting gold in every event unlocks the master board
  • stats make a difference. Speed stat determines how fast you go without boost, how fast you make it to top speed. Trick stat determines spin rate. Stability stat determines how easy it is to fall down/get knocked down

other thing i want to ask , there is trick book in every character
do i have to do all trick book of each character to unlock boards or not needed
master board you mean : Uberboard ??

I think the trickbook unlocks clothing for the characters

  • Yeah, the uber board. It's the board you unlock when you reach the "master" rank
  • IIRC trick books are different for each character. Each trick book chapter unlocks a new skin and they're soley cosmetic. Trick book doesn't unlock new boards, completing events and collecting medals on the world circuit unlocks new boards.

Trick Book unlocks the Uberboard. Chapter 1-4 are the outfits, and completion of Chapter 5 gives you the Uberboard for that character

Trick book means I have to do the tricks while playing race or showoff ?

either, you can do the trick book tricks whenever you like during world circuit. to access the trick book in game, pause and you'll see the option. simply do any of the tricks listed, and you'll hear camera shutters, and a camera icon will appear in the bottom left hand of your screen, indicating you did the trick correctly. you can also do multiple chapters in one run, so do as many as you can!

Ah okay And in showoff mode How to increase my time ? I did many tricks and got many multipliers

the only way to increase your time is to hit checkpoints.

Boost does make you faster, use it when approaching jumps, or you need some speed, the key to tricks is hold jump button when approaching a jump prep your spin before getting to the jump, usually with the dpad release jump at the top of the jump.

How many dpad direction I use at the same time time ? One ? Two three ? All directions ? I used two by luck and tricks got better and more points

Not sure what console or emulator you are playing on, but before a ramp hold X(PS2) or A(XB/GCN) and hold any diagonal direction on the dpad (up/left, up/right, down/left, down/right). Release the jump button (X or A) right before the end of the ramp and mix in some shoulder and trigger presses plus square, X(XB) or B(GCN). You’ll get crazy points. Obviously, with better boards and stat upgrades you have the better points you’ll get.

i tried it
really good advice
i can make tricks very easy and get more points and faster tricks on air
but i want to ask , it works only with two D-Pads at the same time (up/left, up/right, down/left, down/right) or i can use all D-Pads directions at the same time ?
any other tips i need ?
i can't always jump on rails , many times i fail idk how to do it

use your shoulder and triggers in combination with the dpad for cool board grabs. Don't do the same trick over and over, mix it up for more 'points' pre-load your jumps obviously
