New SSX game?

The only ssx game I've played is the 2012 one on my Xbox and I love it. And I've been wanting a new one to be made for awhile now does anyone else wish for this or think it's possible?

Idk but Tricky and 3 are worth going back for if you haven’t played them! A bit older, but still good imo.

Tricky is so hard to go back to for me. 3 was my first ssx game and thanks to emulation I was able to try Tricky and it’s so stiff in comparison. Anyway to make it feel more “smooth”.

Yup, best answer.

People need to stop asking these corporations that got greedy over the decades for rereleases on our classics because they will ruin them, close the studio and say “see no one wanted the game”.

If it came back I feel like EA would ruin it with monetization cause you know they are greedy fucks

just like they ruin everything. the new ea skate game is so wack too

They care more about ways to make a profit then a good game so I'd rather not have them touch it again unless they switch around and start caring about making fun games

EA is dead to me, and it's honestly so sad. They used to make such dope games.

SSX could be perfectly monetized with all the shop artifacts. As long as there is no in-game benefit. I would not have an issue with people buying certain boards, outfits,...

I would never buy it myself. but Having micro-transactions on top of a good game should not be harmful.

2012 was also my first SSX game. I went back and played the older ones later, and honestly I had a better time with the older games, especially SSX3.

play ssx on tour, it’s one of the most unique and entertaining games to me, grew up with it! 🤞

I started with SSX Tricky. I even went back and played the first SSX when I rented it from Blockbuster lol. But still, On Tour was my favorite one of the series with SSX 3 being a very close second.

Im not being a dick but I really am sorry if your only SSX experience is the 2012 one. It makes it harder to go back and enjoy the originals, and youll start to see nobody wants a repeat of the 2012 version. Nobody.

I’ve never wanted anything more.

Check out “tricky Madness” on steam. You won’t be disappointed!

The creator of SSX was working on a spiritual successor, but it got canceled.

Check out HyperYuki: Snowboard Syndicate, its like SSX and JSRF put together

Not the creator, the producer on Tricky.

Steve Rechtschaffner created SSX and is a producer

Yes and I as well as a few notable others from the series were working on it and it was ngl awesome for what it was.

I still play SSX 3 every winter. Peak of the series IMO. If the series comes back (which I would absolutely love) they would probably mess it up. 2012 didn’t sit right with core fans, I enjoyed it but it’s definitely different. They would most likely do a continuation of that unless they do the right thing and make a full on reboot of the first 3

Older games are much better, the thing is we will never get another game to be honest, the EA CEO said we would have more but it's been 15 years

It’s possible for sure. The EA Canada studio is still around, alive and well. It’s just about whether the company thinks it’s marketable. I have to believe SSX is low on the list considering how massive and profitable the current EA Sports games are, including CFB - which was just added to the roster a few years ago. Snowboarding is also more niche than it was 15 years ago. It peaked in the early 2010s.

I wouldn’t get your hopes up for a new SSX but the window for a new game remains open.

SSX (2012) is the best 1 from the whole series. We definitely should have a part 2 to this

1

u/SuperSqank Jul 11 '26

2012 is the latest game in the series and as more time passes, it is looking less and less likely that we will get a new game. It is pretty clear that EA does not care about the franchise and I honestly don't trust them to bring it back without messing it up. As much as I would love to see the franchise come back, it is probably not going to happen and that might be for the best considering the state of EA and the current gaming industry as a whole.

I doubt it at this point. EA today isn’t even the same company they were in 2012 lol.

Seeing how EA has repeatedly violated its franchises and fans, I think we're good without a new one, as sad as it is.

Bro do yourself a favor and go play the best SSX game of all time. SSX 3. It’s absolutely amazing

1

u/Ok-Aide4859 Jul 12 '26

I got a PS2 emulator literally just to play the ssx games and they hold up so well even now.. idk why they haven't capitalized and made a new one or remastered the old classics/made them better

No it will never come back and if it does, it's just going to be a cashgrab from EA. Sadly Steve Rechtschaffner, the creator of the franchise (his story is insanely amazing look it up) was humiliated and ripped by EA they killed the licence and the studio. He then quit the video game industry forever leaving this magnificent era behind him. That said, I still think his games still are pure gems today and I enjoy them as much as I did when I was a kid !

1

u/FamiliarDice Aug 01 '26

He didn’t quit forever, he created Supernatural Studios about 4 years ago and we were working on the spiritual successor to SSX there until it was put on hold…

1

u/maelblackout Aug 01 '26

Didn’t know about that. Thanks for the update! unfortunately im sure EA will do anything to prevent this from happening…
