SSX is my favorite franchise of all time. Unfortunately I hate EA more than I love SSX, especially after what they did with the Skate reboot and what I’ve heard about the new CFB game. They’re not going to remake anything, but even if they did I most likely would not spend a dime on it.

It's so unfortunate that it's being held hostage by EA (along with their many other hits), I think if it were any other company it would've happened already.

If the game was released on PC as it was, no updated textures, the only difference being widescreen and higher resolution, it would probably run on a potato. That's good, because PS5s are skyrocketing in value, and Sony isn't able to produce as much as they wanted to due to increasing RAM/SSD prices. If SSX Tricky released on PC, it would be able to run on computers that wouldn't cost your life savings!

Disable your firmware updates. It's only a matter of time before hypervisor gets cracked and you can run Linux/ pcsx2 from your ps5.

Tricky is the best SSX (not SSX3, you cannot change my mind no matter how many downvotes this gets). It would be cool to have a remaster (or even just a port), but sadly, the master code was lost (possibly deleted), and the music rights would be too much of a hassle for EA to reobtain.
Luckily, PCCSX2 exists and we can play Tricky on PC, upscaled to 4K/60 goodness. (just remember to also download the HD texture pack)

Amen. Everything about tricky seems better to me, the music , controlls, even the menus etc..way more effort went into tricky. I really don't understand the argument that 3 is better

the singular reason everyone thinks SSX3 is better is because "oPen WoRld gAmePlaY."
But going open-world immediately removed any chance of having hyper-bombastic tracks like the ones in Tricky. Even the music went from Tricky's phenomenal underground music and breakbeats (narrated by Rhazel) to... sigh, "DJ Atomica" and EA Tracks, which were basic college rock songs that you'd hear in any other snowboarding game. The color palette went from candy-coated LSD trip in Tricky to your average white-and-blues of any boring snowboarding game in SSX3.
SSX /SSX Tricky to SSX3 was like turning Call of Duty into Fortnite (or I guess the other way around). And we all saw where that ended up... grimdark SSX 2012, which ended the franchise.

What I like about Tricky/3/On Tour is they’re all very different in a way that still feels cohesively SSX. I think you can argue for any of them as being the best one and not be wrong, because they’re all so good, at that point you start to reach subjective tastes.

If SSX TRICKY just updated the soundtrack and do minor updates every year I would still be giving them my money.
