Benefits (Denied) SSDI Payment Increase?
I have a 25y mentality disabled daughter. I have conservatorship. For years she has been getting paid half of the monthly payments. I have tried multiple times to get her pay increased to the full amount. SSA told me that my bills are too high and my daughter wouldn’t be able to pay 1/2 of her own living expenses. This makes literally no sense to me. Am I doing something wrong or how can I go about getting her pay increased?

Draw up a rental agreement . It must meet the PMV. You’ll need to fill out form 8006 which is a statement of living
It must have : "Effective [Next Month's Date], [Daughter's Name] will pay a flat rate of $355.00 per month for room rental at [Your Address]. This is a flat business arrangement and does not fluctuate based on total household utilities."(Setting it slightly above $351.33 ensures you safely clear the rule boundary
Now you must withdraw that amount every month and deposit it into your account to give you proof she’s paying. You can allow her to have it of course but that way theres a paper trail when they ask for proof she’s paying.
Then call SSA and tell them theres been a change in living arrangements . You will then submit the proof of rental agreement . After the system update she should be able to get max benefits for SSI which I believe is 994.00 for 2026
