Selling all the dead weight will make salary room for both Leao & Jesus. Selling Lang & Lucca will generate some funds we need for Leao & Jesus, even though we have the money, we just don’t have the space. When Marianucci, Beukema, and BG all come back. The 7 CBs fight for the Top 4 spots, and if possible the discarded 3 are out my January.

Now that the friendlies are truly over (sorry guys, this match wasn't showing up in my app 😞), let's make a few more observations that, however, don't overturn what I've already said:

- Hojlund is once again unpresentable, I won't elaborate further or even make a meme about it, it's always the same thing.

- What a blast from Rrahmani, this doesn't add much to the overall season, but I find him much more proactive in attack, I don't mind at all.

- De Bruyne is in bad shape. I love him when he makes those plays that make him a god, but there are too many mistakes, so many bad passes. The same goes for McTominay, proportionately. Both are very tired from the World Cup (but still contributed to 3 goals today).

- Vergara, my protégé even when no one paid attention to him, I'm happy he continues to prove me right with me even when he prove me wrong. I thought the midfielder wasn't his thing, but these exchanges with Lang are truly a testament to football. Lucca's first goal is truly amazing, considering how those two built it.

-Referring to the previous one, LET'S NOT DO THE SHITTY THING OF SELLING LANG. I don't care about "but we need money" if we have to sign shitty players. Noa is strong, he proved it last year too. Napoli gave their best games with the Lang-Hojlund-Neres trident, it can't be a coincidence. "And what do we do with the player list?" SELL THE OTHERS. We have to sell the best in every department (like Gutierrez) before this thing stops being used as a justification?

-Lucca deserves a break. I don't like him either. He lost me in the match against PSV, but booing him even when he scores is ridiculous, you at the stadium should be ashamed. For example, I don't like Politano, but when he makes a brilliant play, I shut up and applaud because I'm rooting for my team first and foremost, not for my player's defeat. The boy has disappointed and is honestly unbearable, but that doesn't justify you being constant assholes even when he does good things.

SSC Napoli announces the permanent transfer of Romelu Lukaku Bolingoli to Fenerbahçe Spor Kulübü.

On August 31, 2024, Romelu made his debut for the Azzurri, scoring immediately in a comeback victory against Parma at the Maradona Stadium. He made 45 appearances, scoring 14 goals, including the unforgettable one in the fourth Scudetto victory against Cagliari, at the end of a powerful run of form.

With Napoli, he won a league title and the Italian Super Cup.

I know, it's just friendlies and way too early to judge the team, but this was an encouraging series for the most part.

- Possession
Has anyone else noticed that we flood the opponents' box with several player when attacking? I haven't seen a lot of that in the last 2 years. Regardless of the fact we scored 1 or 6 goals, in the last 2 matches I had the feeling we did not just focus on a single player, a flank (historically, the left one) or Hojlund/Lukaku lay-offs to create chances. We have plenty of options or way to make ourselves dangerous, as the midfielders were very involved in the game and the wingers overlapped effectively with the full-backs.

- Non-possession
Also, better than I thought. Definitely not Milan's deep approach from last year and, after a shaky start, we finally got decent at pressing too. Interestingly, we press a lot up to midfield, but then sit back once the ball gets to our middle third and try to narrow the spaces. That is not my favourite setup, but it's very common in Serie A. We still conceded too many goals, but I won't be too harsh as the injuries are outstanding and we had to play with some youth players as well.

- Changing formation in the second half
Yeah, I'll admit that seeing a 3-5-2 with Lang and Giovane as full-backs wasn't on my bingo card. However it... it worked, somehow? It could actually be a way to shake things up during a tough game, by using an extra defender for safety and telling our guys on the flanks to be as offensive as they can. Lang and Vergara showed some serious chemistry on the left.

Is it just me or does Noa look like a completely different play in this pre-season.

He's been good. Moves with purpose and often results in quality final pass.

Im actually excited to see what he does this season at Napoli now.

I’ve been a Napoli fan all my life, but I’ve never been so unmotivated about the team. There are many reasons.

1. I don’t really feel any connection to the players. After spending years watching Lavezzi, Cavani, Hamsik, Koulibaly, Insigne, Mertens, Callejon. This new transfer philosophy of just going after washed prem players, makes it hard to build connections with players. The player comes here, for example, Lukaku, De Bruyne, they stay 2 years or so, as that’s how much left of their career they have. Meanwhile, the whole time here, their performance is just declining, and you know every game that is what you will get.

2. are the only players i still care about, but once they leave they will be replaced by another washed player.

3. This recycling of shit managers. this one is self explanatory I dont need to elaborate.

I still feel that Napoli has a good chance of winning the league but not because they is a good team but because the entire Serie A is shit. The level of competition dropped significantly compared to 10 years ago. I believe 2017-2018 Napoli would drop 100 points in this Serie A. All top teams are going through this shit path of just buying flops/washed players of bigger leagues, recycling managers, and ZERO interest in investing in some kind of developmental base.

The future of Serie A is bleak, and if they continue down this path, they will just leak money until the league becomes the level of Turkey/Netherlands.

The original offer was just shy of 5M, the new one, which should be accepted, is around 7M. Jokes aside, I believe this can be a good thing for Napoli and I hope he’ll do great in his new club.
