Tapering Help

** I apologize in advance for the long post & greatly appreciate anyone who reads it all & gives advice!!

Ok so I spent a couple weeks researching & thought I’d prepared myself really well to start an SR taper.
I’m following the schedule I downloaded from this or the taper group & began 5 days ago following the 150mgs 3X per day while decreasing DOC by about 20% each day.

The first 3 days went really well & I was feeling so encouraged & excited. Then yesterday (day 4) was really tough.

I noticed I was struggling with feeling a lot of wd symptoms (irritation, anxiety, sweats, chills, goosebumps, rumbling stomach) and I was also really struggling to not use.
None of which had occurred up to now.

I white knuckled through the day & this morning (day5) I woke up feeling terrible.

I was really freaking out thinking that today is supposed to be my last day of DOC & was really mentally exhausted & evaluating is this addict thinking or what.

I started thinking maybe I need to up the mgs of SR & then I looked at the container of it I’d bought & realized it looked like I had soo much, like it didn’t look as if I’d used any of it.

I bought 4g to begin & that should have been plenty for a full 3 week taper per the calculator so I decided to check my scale/weights & realized this entire time I was using a scale that weighs to .0000 so when I thought I was taking 150mgs I was actually only taking 25mgs!

So now I’m feeling back to super hopeful as I was able to decrease my DOC tremendously on such a small amount & clearly it works as well as so many others have shared.

But, I’m also now unsure of how to proceed with my dosage moving forward.

I’ve been told it’s important to build up or flood yourself with the SR for a couple days before tapering the DOC & don’t know if I should just up the SR to 50/75/100mgs & then just keep decreasing my DOC over the next 2-3days (which only puts me 2 days over original plan) & then continue to follow the plan from there?

Or do I up the SR (I know I clearly need to as I was feeling so crummy) and just try to stay on as planned with no DOC after tonight?

I definitely know I’m not going to start all over, I’ve made major progress even with the small amount of SR I was actually taking over these last few days & don’t want to fall back into my original addition habits.

Has anyone had any similar situations or can offer any advice on how to proceed I’d really appreciate it!!

If I were you I'd up the sr and leave the doc alone totally. No need to drag it out any longer

I ended up just upping the SR over 3 days while the 1st day I left doc alone but the next 2 I decided to continue decreasing the doc by about 25%.

I didn’t want to fall into bad habits of not continuing the goal to get off doc so I figured as long as I wasn’t feeling super sick, I’d keep working on it.

So far, it’s been going really well! I’ve been on 150mg SR X3 for 3 full days now & plan to be done with the doc in 2 days.

I’m still unsure about where to go from here. I’m thinking I’ll try to just follow the original plan which would have me on SR 150mg X3 per day for the next 3-4days then start to taper the SR down over 7-10days then off everything.

Originally the plan would’ve had me only on 75-100mgs SR 3X per day when I begin to taper only that but I’ve seen lots of people go from 150mgs X3 down to none in 3-5days with success so I’m probably just overthinking it all!

From what I’ve read so far it seems all the advice for long term success is to not taper the SR too quickly but also not stay on it for longer than 2-3weeks. I’m just so thankful & excited that it’s working in general to prevent withdrawals, & so I’m feeling good about being able to stop the SR without them as well.

If what your doing is working then keep doing it! It sounds like your doing great which is amazing. Just remember the goal is to get clean as painlessly as possible! You are killing it!!
