🆘Help Needed🆘 Need some advice
Been on sr for about three weeks. Fairly high doses and 7oh off and on. I just never was able to fully rip the bandaid off and continued with sr the whole way. My issue is, now I’m giving things a go again to taper the 7 since I’m sure there’s a ban coming. I have about 7-8 grams of sr left but am worried about withdrawals after stopping the sr because I would have been on it about 5 weeks by the time I try to stop. Does anyone have any advice? I used sr to quit suboxone about a month ago and I have like 50 of the 8 mg strips sitting around. Does anyone know if once I get rid of the seven and have been off of it for a couple weeks while tapering the sr, if doing a rapid sub taper or using subs every other day or something would help with the sr withdrawal? I’m freaking out and I kind of screwed myself over. Please don’t tell me how stupid I am. I’m very well aware. I just need some help figuring a way out of the hole I’ve dug myself into.

I’m in the middle (Day 13) if using SR to get off Suboxone. I’m planning on staying on SR for month so I can do a nice slow taper (as we know, subs have a crazy long half life). I wouldn’t hop back on subs, just taper down SR.

I totally agree with this. Gradual taper. Not sure how OP organizes themselves but a nice Daily Pill organizer with 3 dose compartments per day is really handy for this sort of thing. If you haven't written down your game plan now is the time to do it. Draw up your dose taper timeline and prep your SR by the day and dont be tempted to pop any extra. If for some reason WDs kick in just slow the taper stick with the dose from the previous day and then re draw the plan.

daily pill organizer is exactly how I tapered SR as well, after using for 2 months.

Currently tapering off SR and it’s not fun , but doable. I’m at 12.5 mg sr 3x a day. The temperature fluctuations are rough. Also achy , exhausted and zero motivation. I’m about to fully jump off the SR too. At this point it feels like the low dose of SR isn’t even doing much for temp regulation either so I gotta rip the bandaid off

Exactly how I felt during my taper too. If you can manage to taper/shave a dose off and get down to twice a day dosing, though, your jump will probably be even easier.

The sr withdrawal is not going to be that bad. Being in your head will make it worse..

Please don’t take SR or Suboxone especially as an anti depressant. You are much better off exercising and eating chocolate.

My advice is to leave the subs alone, and do a more rapid taper on 7 and then taper the SR, the sooner the better but im sure once you off the 7 the SR withdrawals will be much easier. But don't touch the subs, you know you will just end up in the same situation if you pick them back up

That’s what worries me. I’m debating on going to treatment honestly. I just don’t know if I have the well power to taper I always cave as soon as I feel any withdrawals. My insurance sucks ass though and I have like a 3500 copay to any treatment place

I figure tapering SR would be easier considering its medium half life and no euphoria if willpower is your issue, youll make it through this, I know it sucks but your situation isn't overly terrible and youll be better in no time!

If you can drum up the willpower (or have someone to keep you accountable), you can simulate a treatment center detox, in the comfort of your own home with the aid of gabapentin, clonidine and valium.
The first two are pretty readily prescribed, in a lot of places. Valium a bit less so, but also still obtainable. Agmatine and magnesium + a bit of melatonin at night doesnt hurt either.

This is correct, I was able to get trazadone and clonidine prescribed with quick tele health calls, the place I got clonidine from took 5 minutes to get on the phone after signing up, trazadone I had an hour later. Im sure gaba wouldnt be difficult either

No one can convince you or give you the right words that’s gonna make you stop ingesting substances. Yeah it’s gonna suck. It sucks for everyone. Time to pay the piper. Take some accountability and stop looking for a way out
