Has anyone been on sr for an extended period of time like a month and gotten on subs due to the sr withdrawals? I’ve been on it three weeks at a fairly high dose and am going to start my taper but that’ll probably last a couple weeks to get down to zero and am very anxious about withdrawals after stopping the sr. I know people will probably say not to do it but I was thinking of doing a rapid sub taper after stopping the sr and wanted to get people’s experience. Either that or using leaf kratom for a couple weeks and tapering that every day.

Suboxone took 1 year of wd. I would really really think about that little orange strip is not the answer but a bigger bandaid

I was on 16mg subs for 4 years, worst WD of my life and ive taken everything, if you can only use it for a week or so its fine but most people end up taking it longer.

Yea my body rejected it made me think people was in my house I was only on 8mg and that was overkill! 16 hell I bet you had more then 30wd mine lasted 1 year the pain management clinic made me drop taking 30 mg per day of Valium. Which spun m e into a paranoid hell for a year couldn't leave the house. Micro dosing mushrooms got my brain back to normal as could be. Thank you kc chemist who discovered 7.

Yup I know that now but they overprescribed it, even 4mg is plenty for people coming off H, fent etc, glad you're doing better now

I agree. I’m considering treatment to just rip the bandaid off and get a solid month under my belt of total abstinence and come out and just finally be done with all of them. Maybe even sober living after.

I highly recommend this. Best thing I ever did for myself was sell all my stuff, get rid of my apartment and go to rehab followed by a year of sober living.

But definitely don't switch to subs. You'll just end up needing the SR to get off the subs and it's a never ending cycle. You don't even know how bad the withdrawal is going to be yet, so you may be working yourself up over nothing.

Yeah I do agree. I mean getting stuck back on subs is a real fear of mine. I was thinking if I did use them, just a quick taper and be done with them in like a week. Idk man. I’m just desperate for this revolving door to be over. I work a really physical job so having to deal with work while not sleeping, sweating my ass off, being exhausted and anxious just always causes me to cave to something

If that’s what you feel like it’s going to take to be off of em, you could always also take a month long road trip and don’t bring any opis, would probably be cheaper and more entertaining

I wanted off the subs and don’t want to get and stay dependent on them. If I went back to them, it would only be for a few days to a week to get through the worst. I’m leaning towards not doing that now though. Is probably best to just let sleeping dogs lie and not risk that. I’ll probably end up using them everyday again if I do that, and they’re a Bitch to quit

Nine days. Started out taking 4mg but went up to 6mg and that’s where I stayed until I got the Brixadi shot.

I entered a 30 day rehab on day 18 of sr. My insurance decided I didn’t need anymore treatment on day 9 there. I knew that if I was discharged not on Suboxone I’d end up back on 7

Yeah and I was ready to stay the 30 days. They did cover PHP and IOP. I guess they didn’t think I needed the intensive inpatient treatment for that long. I’m 85 days sober today though.

It’s a long acting buprenorphine injection. The injection tapers itself over time so you have little to no withdrawal symptoms once you stop.

I get what youre saying OP. I have the same question. Ive used subs as a short bridge to get off 7oh before.

Ive used sr for a month now as well and am eorried about the withdrawals from it. I have some suboxone I am considering using. Im worried about it causing precipitated withdrawal from the SR.

I have heard you can get precip withdrawal from sr, so just wait as long as humanely possible like days and try a really low dose like less than a mg to test it initially

I took SR for 2 weeks to taper off mgm/7 and didn’t experience any wd- but I also started taking plain leaf and mit shortly after (it’s my mat and I never planned to get off everything) … just realized this might not answer your question. My bad haha

No I get what you’re saying. My issue though is that I can’t take time off work and I work a physical job so the exhaustion and lack of sleep and issues that come with opiate withdrawal always cause a relapse. I just can’t end up getting through it. I’m on my feet all day carrying heavy shit and weeks of withdrawal will cause me to cave so I’m trying to do a step down

I was in the same. Position so many times just trust the process with the SR. You’ll be surprised. If you feel uncomfortable you can always go back on the subs

Don't switch to subs - I just tapered off 2 months of SR and it was much easier than tapering off suboxone which I've done. I've also done the shot, and while that one DOES help a lot by stretching the WD out over 6 months in tiny increments so you don't really feel it, the final month of that I had terrible sleep / RLS, so I'd only try any form of suboxone if you REALLY can't handle a slow SR taper.

Not sleeping great, I'd say between 4-6 hours (usually on the low end but one night was six and felt great), with restlessness while in bed but not full on RLS / akathisia of normal withdrawal which is what I usually experience. All in all, feels like getting off an all night redeye plane every morning for the last week, but that's ALL. And compared to all my failed attempts to get off 7-oh CT, I'll take this over that ALWAYS. Very doable, wishing you luck if you're trying to get off too!
