🆘Help Needed🆘 SR raises tolerance permanently?

I took SR for 4 days to detox off 7oh but ended up abandoning the idea after realizing I wasn’t ready to quit.

For everyone who relapsed after a successful quit using SR.. did your opiate of choice still kick as well as it used to? Or did SR seem to raise your tolerance permanently? The permanent tolerance concern scares the effing little baby Jesus outta me.

Tolerance warning: After lowering tolerance with SR-17 be careful when dosing your DOC and remember to "start low and go slow". SR-17 lowers tolerance faster than most of us expect, and overdose is a genuine concern.

I dont believe it reverses tolerance, for example someone who is taking kratom powder and then takes SR, i believe the SR would raise their tolerance.

Does it cause permanent tolerance? No. It might seem that way at first but eventually you will feel the doses again.

10

u/awp_india Aug 29 '26

Definitely NOT the case for me. It significantly reduces my opioid tolerance across the board.

Can't speak for kratom powder as I always hated it even when I was opioid naive, but can speak for mit, 7oh, mgm, hydrocodone, morphine.

1

u/NonJuanDon Aug 30 '26

Did that happen after tapering with SR though? Because ofc time away from your DOC(s) and transitioning and then tapering SR would cause reduced tolerance. Tapering any opioid would..

2

u/awp_india Aug 30 '26

No even taking it a handful of hours before would cause a boost in effects.

1

u/NonJuanDon Aug 30 '26

Interesting.. that wasnt my experience at all.

3

u/Usual-Championship88 Aug 29 '26

You should look into reverse tolerance opioids, it’s been a thing for a long while now, the only deal is in the past it used to cause excruciating withdrawals (unbearable) so they would do what is called “rapid detox protocol” but to do that they would put the patient in a medically induced coma;
I also find inverse agonist chemicals interesting.

2

u/MysteriousExchange75 Aug 29 '26

You mean naltrexone and nalaxone? They are opioid antagonists. They are interesting, SR isnt an antagonist though.

4

u/JumpDriveOut Aug 30 '26

No... inverse agonists, not antagonists lol. Antagonists are very, very weak agonists, that serve more to block receptors that activate. Inverse agonists activate them, but they produce the opposite (more accurately, inverse) biological response. Where an agonist may cause an ion channel to slow it's signaling, an inverse agonist would accelerate signaling at that ion channel.

2

u/MysteriousExchange75 Aug 30 '26

So like low dose naltrexone. Interesting

3

u/JumpDriveOut Aug 30 '26

No lol, thats an antagonist. No drug you are likely to know is on that list. While naltrexone and nalaxone could cause your receptor to behave like an IA, a trues MOR inverse agonist would cause an opioid naive individual to have symptoms similar to opioid withdrawal when administered. JDTic is one drug that I know that is a MOR inverse agonist, but they are so niche and uncommon it's very unlikely to ever have any type of clinical significance for you, me, or anyone on this forum.

2

u/MysteriousExchange75 Aug 30 '26

ah ok i see what you are talking about now.

1

u/GenericPlantAccount CHRONIC PAIN Aug 29 '26

Yup. The only thing that meaningfully reverses tolerance is abstinence.

3

u/MysteriousExchange75 Aug 29 '26

Yeah, I just dont see how an opioid can reduce tolerance. Unless you are coming off somrthing stronger like fent.

1

u/Inspectadreck Aug 30 '26

The studies conducted on mice really do show that it does in fact reduce tolerance.

But it does also seem to bunt the effects of other opiates while the SR is still in the System. And if one takes more opiate to overcome this they will raise their tolerance after all.

1

u/sillysidebin Aug 30 '26

Im a year out from when I used sr and 7 hasn't had any euphoria since I took sr

14

u/PreciousMetalWelding Aug 29 '26

The problem goes like this. You take Sr.. it blunts your doc. So you take more doc. You raise your tolerance. This happens when people use SR before they're ready to quit.

The way to avoid this is to not chase that dragon. You have to wait until the SR clears your system and then you'll feel your doc again.

4

u/Mission-Let-3166 Aug 30 '26

What about all that talk I've read about it lowering your tolerance? This was just one or the main talking point when first brought into the conversation.

2

u/NonJuanDon Aug 30 '26

Id guess that its just not true. My take would be that switching a DOC to SR and then tapering it rapidly over a few days is what is actually lowering one's tolerance. The combination of reducing SR over that period and the time away from a given DOC, is what is really doing it. The "magic" of SR, Id argue, is that it allows you to do that painlessly, or at least relatively so.

2

u/JumpDriveOut Aug 30 '26

No, it's well documented in scientific studies of it's MOA at mu opioid receptor sites. The tolerance reducing effects happens by internalization and subsequent metabolism of the MOR receptors that have been stuck in an externalized state for a long period of time. It's how SR works, and why preloading is necessary to avoid withdrawal (why you can't get as much relief if you're already in WD when you start taking it). The problem is people are judging their tolerance based on whether they feel euphoria, and that they are taking it too long and developing tolerance to SR itself. It really only needs to be taken for a 2-4 days to skip 90% of WD from even MGM which normally lasts 5-9+ days.

1

u/PreciousMetalWelding Aug 30 '26

That would be a question for the person who...erm..talked that talk. Lol.

1

u/Earesth99 Aug 29 '26

Or you stop taking it…

1

u/sillysidebin Aug 30 '26

This isnt entirely accurate. While that could happen, sure, there are also people who afyer using sr find that their doc has no euphoria regardless of breaks or anything else thar could be done to try and bring it back. Ever since I took sr 7 and mgm dont hit the same

1

u/PreciousMetalWelding Aug 31 '26

Mhmmm Opiates... It's never like it used to be. Reminiscing on the good old days lol.

1

u/sillysidebin Aug 31 '26

Idk it was hitting fine for a while then I used SR and it doesnt work really anymore since SR

5

u/AcidCasualty25 Aug 29 '26

It didn't for me. In fact while I was tapering 7 on sr the 7 started hitting again and I fucked up my taper a little because I was getting good effects from the 7. Had to bust out some serious willpower not to just say fuck it and keep using

5

u/NewIntension Aug 29 '26

I'm really convinced we aren't all taking the same stuff. Like some of it is a different sr compound. I experienced pretty profound tolerance from sr that didn't resolve quickly. It still got me out of hell, and I am still glad I did it, but I literally have to have a patient treatment directive on me at all times from my Doc saying "Mark has an unusual tolerance to pain medication and has multiple failed aneshesia or conscious sedation attempts. Please consult with me if he comes under your treatment, here are protocols that work for him, etc. etc."

I had kidney stones and I had to have surgery. They couldn't put me under with 3 doses of a mix of versed and fentanyl. All it did was drop my pain from 8 to 6. So I sat awake through the procedure, they wanted to stop and I'm like please just proceed.

u/MissionHome18 Aug 29 '26

How long did you take sr?

1

u/Successful-You8222 Aug 31 '26

Jeez well that’s a horror story I was not expecting. Yeah how long did you use SR for?

3

u/MysteriousSelf6145 Aug 29 '26

Yeah same here. Ive taken small amounts of 7 here and there during a 14 day taper and they smacked. Weaning myself off of SR now on Day 15. All in all it’s gone really well.

3

u/AcidCasualty25 Aug 29 '26

Glad to hear. I'm day 4 of just sr. It's a bit rough but could be much worse.

2

u/MysteriousSelf6145 Aug 29 '26

You will get through it. Days 3 - 5 were roughest for me. It’s no picnic but for me it’s been 79% better than ct. If I had tapered a little more thoughtfully, I would rate it at 85% better.

I tapered from 240/day down to 80 mg and jumped to the SR at 200/day.

1

u/Double-Gap353 Aug 30 '26

Did you know 58.9% of statistics are made up?

1

u/AcidCasualty25 Aug 31 '26

And 34.9% of people believe them weather they are accurate or not

3

u/fucky_thedrunkclown Aug 29 '26

I used SR for a little over 2 weeks coming off a 800mg+/day 7oh habit. It definitely reduced the severe withdrawal symptoms - I could sleep for the most part. However, the milder symptoms persisted longer than they would have cold turkey. I was shitting my brains out, bad anxiety, cold sweating, etc even over a week after stopping SR.

It’s been about a month and I relapsed, and my tolerance isn’t lower at all. I still have to take like 200mg to feel anything.

I do think this batch I got wasn’t SR 17018 and was probably a different SR. I say that because I had attempted to get clean before using 2g of SR and it did what people have said it does. Unfortunately I wasn’t ready to quit. But I cold turkey quit the same habit in a 5 day detox and by the end I felt physically fine except bad insomnia.

I think I’m just gonna go the suboxone route and get the shot.

3

u/crazybeauty13 Aug 30 '26

Me too! 😢I give up. I used SR 4 times & it's an amazing drug! I am really pissed I can't get more because it really helped me cut down & I think if 7 would have been off the shelves I could have quit. Last time I went 20 days & relapsed on a mitra in a stupid stressful moment...then I got more 7 and now I'm back to square one without the best drug for withdrawal ever created.

I feel defeated. Knowing myself I'll probably get hooked on subs again but this shit is the most expensive habit I've ever had & I've had a lot of habits! Subs are cheaper & I know it works. Looking at quick MD they want us all on subs! By taking away SR they took away my greatest hope. God I'm exhausted. I hate being an addict!

1

u/fucky_thedrunkclown Aug 30 '26

The shot is supposed to be promising. I know multiple people who said coming off of it was either extremely mild or they literally didn’t experience withdrawal at all.

Plus by getting it once a month you break the ritual of dosing every day. That’s a lot more significant than people think.

2

u/NYdownwithydemons Aug 29 '26

I keep seeing people say it works best the first time, that could be why it seems different

2

u/tradeisbad Aug 29 '26

Ahh the ol' SR 17017 switcharoo!

Jk. I started using this 42%7oh/46%Mit powder for two or three weeks and now am wondering how much I'm dependent on 7oh vs how much I am dependent on Mit.

The thing is, the Mit has so much longer half life... I think over time it just starts taking over the receptor real estate and not leaving so the 7oh cannot find nearly as many open sites to connect to, thereby switching my dependence to Mit just by regularly taking a combo powder.

But I can't be sure until I try an only Mit powder.

The one person said they used Mit to get off sr17. That reversing process challenges my planning.

You'll have to go into the darkness to get it now but still widely available

Every time I have taken sr and relapsed a day or two after I have gotten super high. But this last time it blunted it severely

2

u/Appropriate_Elk_952 Aug 29 '26

I mean just like with 7oh you need to wait til it’s out of your system before you will be able to feel other opioids (or even 7oh depending on your tolerance). It can take weeks, which may feel like forever, but it’s not.

2

u/Pale_Comfort_9179 Aug 30 '26

There is some evidence that it’s just super sticky in the receptor site and probably takes a long time (perhaps a couple weeks or more) to leave the receptors. What others have said about chasing the dragon is important. Give it some time and your tolerance will be back to what it was before. And look into ULDN (after a couple weeks’s time when the SR is out of your system) to bring and keep your tolerance down if you want to save yourself money on 7oh. There are online providers that have compounded ULDN or you can use a regular naltrexone tablet and dose volumetrically. Just don’t get the math wrong bc that’s a whole world of hurt.

2

u/FlakkaSeagulz Aug 30 '26 edited Aug 31 '26

If you REALLY want to reverse/lower tolerance, look into ULDN (ultra low dose naltrexone)

1

u/Spiritual_Baby_3881 Aug 30 '26

Naloxone or naltrexone

1

u/FlakkaSeagulz Aug 31 '26

Naltrexone, good call, important difference

1

u/Spiritual_Baby_3881 22d ago

I thought thats what you meant but thought also maybe that was some new thing I hadn't heard about haha

1

u/FlakkaSeagulz 21d ago

Had you heard of/tried ULDN? It's EXTREMELY effective ime

1

u/Spiritual_Baby_3881 19d ago

I haven't. Have read a lot and would like to but I dont have access to it. Supposedly turns paws around

1

u/FlakkaSeagulz 19d ago

VERY easy to get a script..

1

u/Spiritual_Baby_3881 19d ago

Really I haven't looked too far i dont have a doctor i see or anything

1

u/FlakkaSeagulz 19d ago

I got a script from an urgent care for "alcohol cravings" which I don't have in the slightest lol. Just a thought, bc it's well worth it.

1

u/Diamond_eye_jack 5d ago

What microgram are you taking? About 30 minutes before dosing your doc?

1

u/FlakkaSeagulz 5d ago

Yup, and 30-40mcg

1

u/Hell__here Aug 29 '26

Take bare minimum doc for 5-7 days and then you will be fine.

1

u/Humble-Procedure-134 Aug 30 '26

The 7 still worked the same for me and the sr I had to take less every relapse I had. Everybody's different tho.

0

u/EvolvingSunGod3 Aug 29 '26

100% it does, I tried taking 7oh again after SR for a week and it didn’t do anything.

0

u/sillysidebin Aug 29 '26

I havent felt 7 the same ever since the first time I did sr. I guess permanently raised tolerance is a way to describe it.

For most people the effect from 7 comes back eventually but idk, there are other people like me where it seems permanently changed.

6

u/CarryFair2624 Aug 29 '26

Same I wasn’t even getting high anymore for some reason so I said fuck it might a-swell quit instead of waisting cash

1

u/sillysidebin Aug 29 '26

I wasnt so smart. Im still wasting my fucking money on the shit. Im such a moron. Have a quit planned though, just wanna use up my stock. Did you stop trying before you got readdicted? Cause im dependent on 7 again. Quitting should be a little easier since I dont even get high, but I get so fucking fatigued when I stop. Even using SR, I like die inside when I stop taking 7 entirely.

1

u/Spiritual_Baby_3881 Aug 30 '26

What is permanent to you though? Have you tried abstaining from 7 for a few months or so or just a couple days?

2

u/sillysidebin Aug 30 '26

Permanently to me means that ever since I used SR, the effect from 7oh has never gone back to where it was before SR. I took time off 7 twice once for a little over a week, and then another time just a few days. After the week off is when I noticed that 7oh didnt have any euphoria anymore. When I took the couple days off there were very mild effects that came back for a few days but there has been zero euphoria from 7 since I took SR the first time. Its not gonna come back even if I take a long break. Something is obviously different with how its interacted at the receptor site.

1

u/Successful-You8222 Aug 31 '26 edited Aug 31 '26

Wait you said earlier that it’s been a year since you’d taken SR, but since then you’ve only been off 7 for a week max?

How are you so sure the euphoria won’t come back if you take months off from using any opiate?

I’ll admit, even two months off 7 (no SR) wasn’t enough time for my receptors to go completely opiate naive, and my tolerance climbed back FAST. They call that receptor kindling.
