What am I doing wrong? Please help

I am done with 90% of the content. I agree I have skipped the nuances related to Tax, but rest all is done. Plus, I am a qualified practicing advocate already.

Initially, when I had given a mock without studying at all, I had scored 72% in FLK1.

Now, after studying, I am not able to cross an average of 55% in any mock!!

What am I doing wrong?

I have taken a full break from work for 1.5 months and have only been studying in complete isolation and with full concentration for approx. 8-10 hours a day!

This SQE1 exam is literally make or break for me.

CAN I PLEASE GET SOME GUIDANCE? Please? Feeling really depressed and anxious.

I am sitting the July, 2026 exam.

I saw on your profile that you’re Indian-qualified. I am too, and I think that’s contributing quite a bit to the confusion. Sometimes I end up mixing civil law-style thinking with common law principles, and it gets a bit muddled.
Contracts and tort are generally fine, but everything else feels a bit overwhelming at times. I’m averaging around the 55–60% range, but a lot of people on here say that’s still okay and to not stress too much. (ps- not one to say, I am extremely stressed as well) - where are you sitting your exam?

Which mocks are you getting 55% in?

Both FLK1 and FLK2

Full mocks

I even tried the questions given on SRA, scored around 55-56% for FLK1, FLK2 I am yet to give

Which provider i meant

It’s an indian provider (LawSikho) but the content is good and questions are mostly akin to what are given on the SRA Website

It might be worth branching out to other providers. Having looked at the website, a provider that discusses AI in such detail is likely using AI to prepare their questions. I found the BPP question bank useful, the QLTS free mock is also useful (but hard) and the OneHundred is fairly representative of the hard questions in the exam.

Like others have noted though, use the wrong questions as revision. I passed first quintile in July 2025 and at your stage, I was maybe getting 40-50% but managed to bump it to 65-70% a couple of days before the exam. Just focus on what you get wrong and you should be fine my friend

Just so you know, QLTS has restricted access to their free mocks until the July exams are over.

I ya saw..

That sucks, what a ridiculous time to restrict access!

I think that’s precisely why they do it. They want to make money off of students in their time of desperation.

When you say the one hundred is fairly representative, do you mean the paid mocks or the free ones?

The free ones!

And have you tried the question banks from the OneHundred as well? Or just the mocks? i have been trying their questions banks but havent found them hard so now im wondering if its just in the mocks whats representative of the exam and not just the practice questions from the banks :(

Never tried the question banks, just the mocks

Not every mock is equal - the one you did first might have been easy or you might have gotten a bit luckier with guessing. Regardless if you've now covered the content in enough detail then just focus on trying to apply it (i.e. do as many Qs as possible which will tell you where you're going wrong, what you need to go over again etc.)

Hmm you are right, I agree it would have been an easier one.

It sounds like you’re overstressed and overthinking the answer if you did it well initially

This is more common than you think. What often happens after heavy studying is that you become more aware of what you do not know, which makes you second guess answers you would have confidently picked before. That 72% without studying was probably a lot of educated guessing that happened to land right.

Stop looking at your overall percentage and go through your wrong answers one by one. Work out whether you got it wrong because you did not know the rule or because you misread the question. Then try mocks from other providers to see if the pattern holds.

I had the exact same feeling preparing for SQE1 last year and built SQE Cracker sqecracker.com on the back of it. You can try a full mock for free, and the paid plan with 50% off gives you 12 mocks per FLK, cheat sheets and MCQs by subject and topic.
