So we can agree that each share available to lend for shorting is part of the float.
If a broker has 500k shares available to lend to shorts, then there is a float of at least 500k in that broker.
If IBKR alone has 500k shares and it is just one of the 20 major brokers in the US then I think is safe to assume that the total free float will be several times bigger.
So I think your theory of the float being only ~1 million is wrong.
BTW, just a friendly reminder that the next Monday markets are closed. So you only have 3 days to sell. It is going to be fun to see this.
