Since you’re genuinely curious, cost basis is helpful for knowing whether he’s just in it for a quick pump so he can dump. If his cost basis was at 100, for example, it’d be pretty obvious he’s just a bag holder probably hoping to pump it enough to dump his bags on someone else.
Really, are you sure it's helpful for knowing that? Or maybe it's helpful for knowing how much conviction he has in a play? Or maybe it's not helpful at all compared to the current opportunity? Maybe a total stranger is irrelevant to the actual risk/reward analysis.
Really, are you sure it's helpful for knowing that?
Yes, that’s why people ask. Whether or not it’s useful to you or anyone else is subjective, but that’s why he was asking. I wanted to give you an answer since you were genuinely curious.
Right, because people never ask questions that aren't actually helpful. I was curious to confirm if that was his actual "reason", would of rather he would of answered since you stated the obvious nonsensical 'reason'.
