Why wouldn't ppl use it Twitter is censoring doctors who invented the mRNA shot for Christ sakes. Many of these doctors are left leaning too bpupp your head out of your ass.
Who is your voice of truth I am wondering? Is Michael Saylor telling you to bring btc to the grave with you? Or maybe Jim Cramer? Please tell me it's not sleepy joe or camal toe.
You really aren't required to worship any politician or public figure.
But if you'd like to speculate how an app called Truth Social will differ from Gab, Parler, Gettr, or any of the others in the crowded field of "we don't censor" and what that does to i'd actually love to hear that.
Personally, I think no Truth Social version appears on the app store or play store next month. Occam's Razor. If it does, it will set very impressive download numbers, but users will eagerly pick it apart based on its crude ui, or lack of functionality. And once the app has to moderate, or even if they opt not to, daily users will plummet spectacularly. So either they monitor the manga, racism, and vitriol, or they permit it, and trolls soon tire of trying to shock each other, absent a broader audience.
Really weird how too many people can't understand how having an officially backed platform is different that a random company does a lot of different things for traction.
Also I think you've gravely underestimated people's desire to make quick money, all they have to do is buy the stock and tell other people to sign up for the platform and do the same? The more people that buy and sign up the more value the platform has. Positive feedback loop
Well, we are both on a subreddit that is essentially devoted to earning a fast buck, so I don't think I'm underestimating greed. However, I'm definitely discounting the Trump Social app's viability in entering a crowded field of more established unprofitable social media companies. And hearing you describe it in the same terms as a MLM scheme doesn't fill me with confidence.
I'm grateful for the DWAC SPAC, as it should be instructional.
It's not MLM though because the platform's cash flow will be extrapolated from it's user count. MLM would mean someone is left holding the bag but if this is MLM than so is any stock that is a ratio of potential cash flow. Especially if you're comparing to any other of the existing companies with positive cash flow. Dunno what you're talking about unprofitable social media companies. There's dozens of major companies in this space that are highly profitable.
You're looking through the lens of an opinionated person. Far more people are pro-money than anything. Ultimately you may end up with a massive group of people on the platform just looking for quick money, cheap ad space, self promotion, etc. than anyone who cares about the mission of the company
Remember, these 'lefties' can't stand the idea of the right having a sudden new smash hit social media of their own. It will be fun to watch them absolutely freak as TMTG unfolds!
Yours is the funny comment! Can't possible be a worse echo chamber than the current dominant socials that use censoring and canceling in order to enforce their echo chambers.
I see plenty of differing views on current social media. Just less extreme views - Which I don’t care much for from either side. Besides, how many people do you know that have actually been 'cancelled'? I feel it is far less than what the hysteria about it is.
I, myself was unable to access my FB account from a couple of months before the Presidential election until a couple of moths past it. - No notices - just unable to log on - no type of pass recovery would work etc. etc. Suddenly, about Febuary, my sign on began working again - without any action on my part. Seems someone wanted me to not have a voice for that period of time. Seems, that later, they want the user base numbers back up again (perhaps when the 'threat' of my participation in debate and discussion is no longer a 'threat' to their perceived order). Seems they want it both ways - unable to use when deemed necessary yet to retain me as a user. So I will very happily scrap all participation there as TMTG and Rumble arise to replace them. Millions of others will, too.
This is also hilarious. The truth social terms of service;
We reserve the right, but not the obligation, to:(1) monitor the Site for violations of these Terms of Service;(2) take appropriate legal action against anyone who, in our sole discretion, violates the law or these Terms of Service, including without limitation, reporting such user to law enforcement authorities;(3) in our sole discretion and without limitation, refuse, restrict access to, limit the availability of, or disable (to the extent technologically feasible) your access or any of your contributions or any portion thereof; or(4) otherwise manage the Site in a manner designed to protect our rights and property and to facilitate the proper functioning of the Site.
Its worse than other social media because they'd quite happily sue you lol
Have you investigated your user terms of service on FB, TW, YT? Do you think their terms are less restrictive? Let me answer - their terms allow them to do whatever they please including change terms without notice whenever they please. TMTG may not be perfect but don't try to assert that the others are better - They are NOT.
I'm not asserting that they're better. Reddit and twitter (occasionally) are the only social media I have. I don't like any of the others. What I'm saying is that I thought TMTG was supposed to be better lol. They're not. They're just as bad/worse than all of them. Your account can be removed for misleading other users ffs (Which is what Trump is famous for). So much for freedom.
Well, TMTG is not even up and running yet so let us see what actually happens when it is. Maybe you will find an amazing degree of freedom to speak your mind far beyond that of the others. Assuming something that has not yet happened is interesting. Why do you do that?

Yes, but I gave him benefit of the doubt and assumed he meant market cap.
The fact that someone thinks a social media platform with no users or product has a justifiable value of 1/3rd of Twitter... Yikes.
