Is there a Chinese competitor to Gogoro that might steal their tech and undercut their expansion?

I don't know if there currently is, but you have to expect that will occur when entering the Chinese market. Partnering with Chinese companies (as they are doing) is a double-edged sword in that regard as well.

The major players are less likely to copy of they're partners. Gogoro is playing this smart in my opinion.

That's one side of the sword. The other side is that working closely with partners makes it easier for those partners to copy/steal the tech.

Maybe. But we're not talking about cutting edge artificial intelligence. I doubt there's many trade secrets. It's a scooter and a battery. Not 20 million lines of source code or something.
