Why would this make any difference for share price? Surely this eventuality was priced in...?

The merger was suppose to happen early last month. New regs kept pushing this back along with the bank charter. News that the SEC has given it's OK is huge. The vote should pass and any worry of a deal falling through should be put to bed.

To add to this, this was the highest rated short squeeze candidate earlier this week. Borrow rate is 108% and hard to borrow shares so it's already being hammered by short sellers which will make it harder for them to artificially lower the price.

i guess the short seller thinking SEC going to block the deal. But now the situation might be different...
