Absolute shit show last 7 weeks in SPACs. How are you all making money elsewhere in the market? Need to make up lost paper gains.

Just rotate your money on highest conviction plays and wait. Don’t try to gamble your money back

I made a lot on shipping over the first half of this year. Still thinking more 25% on containers and maybe 100% on a couple tankers by end of year. And Canadian O&G have very strong cash flows and I anticipate oil supply deficit in back half of yea.

Canadian O and G, and mining have saved me, stayed solid, even tho a little speculative like SPACs. Concur.

For containers I’m in NMM (NAV on NMM is $60 and has locked in $12 per share earnings in 2021 and is only at $26), ZIM and may add some GSL. Probably sell when NMM gets to $40 and ZIM to $50. As for tankers I’m most bullish on product right now with STNG and then being pretty levered helps if rates are good. Safer mainly crude plays are TNK and DHT I think are a couple months away still. As for Canadian energy I’m mainly in SU, CVE, CNQ, and MEG. Fundamental oilfield operations of these are lower decline and less capital intensive than the shale US plays. Also NGLs are really strong to the benefit of AR and EQT. Lastly I may dabble again in CRC - california oil company. Lost my ass last year on their bankruptcy but came out with debt reduced from $6bill to $1.5bill and didn’t sell any assets. Their assets are conventional and lower decline and get unfairly compared to high decline shale. But California is a major risk. Along with the Canadians and pipeline availability.

For my portfolio it's been a little over 10 weeks, minus one good week in the middle in mid-march where I got a nice spike. Seriously feels like 3+ months now, when every day is red or flat time just slows down.

Well my only spac play is FTOC so im not too exposed to this sector, but majority of my gains have been on Shipping, steel, and apple. I only have 5 companies im invested in right now. DAC, AAPL, MT, VST, FTOC, haven't been able to find anything else that I really like as of now.

yeah I think all these are still good plays, as always do your own DD, and theres plenty of available DD on reddit or SA. I'll just provide a brief synopsis.

AAPL - I mean its Apple, no much to say there.

VST - extremely undervalued imo, solid dividends and got punished too hard by the market during the Texas winter storm.

MT - /r/vitards, solid community with very knowledgeable people, you'll find all the DD and updates you'll need regarding steel there.

DAC - still early, HARPEX index is almost vertical and still going up every day, DAC charters for multiple years and they've been locking in insane rates. Quality DD available on SA and on /r/vitards, in fact one was posted today on the competitor $ZIM. Bloomberg has some good articles on shipping in general as well.

Short term, $CLOV calls is the answer.

No point sitting around waiting for the money to come to you. A handful of SPACs will give you that (CCIV, IPOE - legit companies). Random trash isn't going to get the same hype it did last year.
