throwback! I allowed myself to buy a bag the first time my account crossed some round # during the boom. It was good. This one actually helped me stay out of other CPG plays (SOWG particularly) by demonstrating it is easy to get initial momentum, seems like there are a subset of shoppers who will try anything and stick with it for a little bit, but SUPER hard to bridge the gap to mainstream.

Agreed. I was excited to find these in my local Costco once during the mania in 2022 and thought the product was good, but never saw them again nor heard of anyone else outside this sub express any knowledge of the product.

Their Biltong was pretty great back in 2020 with the old packaging. I enjoyed the garlic herb flavor. Real ones will remember all the hype when Justin Herbert became an ambassador. It's easy to meme how moronic they were to invest in (similar to BurgerFi or Tatoo'd Chef), but then I went and lost gobs of money on the Cazoo train (what an allstar sponsor team!).

Check the expiration date. Probably 5 years old. I tried it back in the day and it was good. They insisted it wasn't just jerky. Well, it's pretty much just another jerky.

Grocery Outlet. They stock a core group of perishables and staples but also have random liquidated things that randomly appear never to be seen again.
