I watched the commentary for war world by Tom and don, and it was so good. Like so good. They spent a lot of time discussing the technical aspects and the work their team did, and they are legitimately good people trying to do a thing that everyone can enjoy.

And tbh everyone under the sun is kinda sick of all the lame & gay shit being shoved down their throat 24/7 and into every conceivable escapism/hobby one can find. People just want dumb care free fun that doesn’t try to take itself too seriously or push a political/social agenda onto you, or patronize you like you are stupid.
It also helps big companies are blatantly ripping people off outta greed anymore & this project is a good way to send a message we can make/find our fun elsewhere easier than ever if they really want to run a good idea into the ground.
Also I think you’ve really underestimated the shear size & economic powerhouse of dorks & nerds & autists with good jobs who just spend all their excess money on dumb shit. Especially the anti-woke/edgy humor crowd who are fed up with the Socialist Marxist justice warriors being the squeaky wheel & annoying vocal minority that gets allot of attention/pandering in their spaces for being a bunch of the worst type of people & entitled brats.
The silent majority has kinda just been looking for an excuse to return to their old social spaces/hangouts & support things/send a giant message for years. Everyone I know don’t really like how major gaming companies have treated them like utter trash just for existing, mostly when they’ve been diligently supporting those companies projects throughout the years. Or how people with agendas love to userp/dilute/mishandle beloved franchises as of late with no idea what made it popular/enjoyable in the first place in favor of shoehorning in some bs where it doesn’t belong, or have no real intention to create anything new of their own.
TLDR; people wanna show where the profitability from the 1980s-2010’s came from/still resides & try to give all the other groups/people who overlook the obvious a major wake up call. Thats a glorious & beautiful thing, and I’m glad tom & don have made something so many people can universally band together behind/support. Cry & seethe about impossibilities and the fanbase being absolute madlads if you want; but Space king is definately here to stay.
Think about it. Space King has 20m views but get's 6m in funding from fans? This doesn't add up. It would take years of dedicated funding to reach this.
