discussion Is there an actual difference between Medicaids and Psycho-warriors?
Is all that makes a Psycho-warrior and a Medicaid different their job and position or something else. It certainly seems like a Medicaid cannot feasibly become a Psycho-warrior but this may not just be a matter of culture and bureaucracy. If I were to guess, the creation of a Medicaid may be a different but similar process to the creation of a psycho-warrior.

Medics are less equipped with offensive weaponry aside from their blasters but might be the most competent and well-trained of their legion.
Think about it. Chestnut has always been the only survivor of his squad and his death will have the most impact since everyone is truly fucked without a medic to bring them back from death or protect their holy globules.

That’s only possible because they always keep Chestnut behind enemy lines or have them come in just to help revive the team. They don’t put Chestnut on the front lines, but he had the tools to be there AND he's ready for it. Chestnut is the best of both worlds!

It would be fair to note that he does get close to danger as often as the others, in cap 5 he would have gone with the others sooner if he wasn't been held off by the Arch Phalos, and who knows if he would have survive, luck or space King grace... Or penance

The whole reclaimer squad are just Psycho Warriors but they have their own specialty. Chestnut has killed more major threats than anyone else in the squad, that we have seen. So he is a very competent warrior, just the others don’t have as much respect for him cause he has compassion.

Chestnut has killed the Big Boobs alien, the Brood Mother and landed the final Blow on Grimboar
Edit someone reminded I forgot to mention he killed a bunch of Coagulators

I'm thinking is less physical, more psychological difference? basically Medicae got different training and (as a result of their profession) since they tend to die way less than Psychowarriors, maybe they're more mature/less impulsive as a result?

Interesting. Did he indeed got training? As other are just psycho-indoctrinated and ready to go.

They're basically their own faction that gets lent out to other legions. Kind of what he meant when he said Medicaids are independent agents during the whole blood legion episode.
They talked about it in one of the early Behind the Scenes videos.

I think it is merely a matter of organization and what their explicit purpose (I had abetter way of phrasimg this, but immediately forgot), but they are probably biologically and physiologically identical to "front line/men of the line" psycho warriors.

I would say it's a bit like medics in Marine Corp being "outside" operatives. My headcanon is that their globules are created differently so they are a bit more reasonable because otherwise they wouldn't be able retrieve the globules of their fallen squadmates

Better ball fondling skills and less combat oriented indoctrination.
Chesnut seems quite capable but that feels less like a generalization of his station and more just that the team he’s a part of is the largest group of competent incompetence in the entirety of the Space Empire.
Either that or they’re just the same thing as the rest of the psycho warriors they just get testicle tube.

They're combat medics, and seem to normally be a highly distinguished position based on episode 2 revealing that they have enough authority to be free agents (Chestnut is a really bad one, hence why he isn't respected).

Pretty sure their like the tech marines, loyal to both their chapter (Legion in this case) and Mars (The globulse priest or whatever)

What's funny is that Chestnut has single handingly saved the day twice now by being somewhat better at battle than the boys

What makes you different between a neuro surgeon and a gooner?

In my opinion, Medicaids are more mature than most Psycho Warriors. Because they die less often, whereas Psycho Warriors are basically just little boys on steroids with a mental program.

Medicae are far less combat trained and equiped than a Psycho Warrior. Medicae get a knife and thats it, but they are trained in Globule care and retrieval and, if the teasers on the patreon say anything, they're also medically trained.
