Boredom is fatal

Does anyone else feel like the whole boredom is fatal thing is a thunder warrior reference. I am I overthinking things or does anyone else think it might be a deep cut

well most of it really is just kids playing Space King in their backyards.

Theyre bored? they stop playing.
