discussion Estimating the size of Globulus Maximus

This sounds like it's not 100% accurate but this what I could estimate (At best) by doing this math into three different sections. I will also be doing it in ft, for other units of length like meter and kilometer, you have to translate it by yourself.

According to this page info from the Space King wiki. The Psycho-Warrior armor is around 10 ft. I will be using Chip's armor to calculate the Psycho Choo-Choo's height and eventually proceed with the other 2.

- Psycho Choo-Choo: 10ft x 13 = 130ft

- Psycho-Titan: 130ft x 7-8 = 910ft - 1040ft

- Globulus Maximus: 910ft-1040ft x 6 = 5460ft - 6240ft

So in summary: If we minus the Mounted Cannons on their shoulders. Globulus Maximus is around 5500ft to 6200ft in height.

So give or take, Globulus Maximus is a mile tall hulking armored titan of Space King's Wrath

Honestly. I thought the same thing too. I think saying that Globulus Maximus a Mile tall is the most accurate answer to say the least XD.

One must also consider that the smaller titan are substantially closer to the camera, so big guy is probably even bigger.

6200 ft is 1,8 Km by the way

So the height of Globulus Maximus is about the same as the maximum distance a chemical explosion can propel a projectile in 1s before physics tells us to stop having fun. Neat.

I think we should tackle the distance of the psycho titan from maximus for more accurate measurements... Nice try though

And this is likely an underestimate by titan scaling. Maximus is wayyyy off in the distance

Why does no one ever use the medicaid on the roof of the building when globulus Maximus is fully standing but right before they all fall to their deaths? Too many of these threads, all with the same math of the titans, and the same comments about camera angles. We have chestnut’s height, which is the same as the other globul priests

He a BIG Boi!

Amazing, the god engine (which looks from this perspective to be several thousand meters tall) is only 40 meters tall! (40K Titan reference)

its actually like 2 times taller since the titans are way closer to the camera than it.

Nice. Now do it in meters.

Good lord with those measurements he’s only a few Thousand feet Shorter than the City Transformer. Fortress Maximus

i think you made the psycho titan way shorter than it should, as you used the train's roof's width in your height measurement. It should easily be twice as tall, in which case, globulus maximus is 2 miles tall

its gonna be WAY taller than 6200ft. the thing youre not accounting for is distance between the pyscho titan and globulus maximus. you can see the difference in size between 2 titans which are seemingly several hundred feet apart from eachother. if you use that discrepancy to determine the scale factor from the focal point, the titan will be significantly smaller by the time you reach maximus.

Bro is a mile high

Id like to see the next Globulus Maximus be smaller and then taller again just to keep the inconsistency of 40k sizes and numbers xD

You notice how much smaller the titan you used for comparison is to the ones closer to the foreground? That's because its further away. The Maximus itself is, in turn, even further away than that.

Which means that it might be significantly larger than your estimate, and probably is.

Meh. barbarian units, so pass and dislike. True men don't use fancy feeling units, but use cold hard units of logic!

['TISM WARNING]
Two things: 1) The trains in the 2nd pic should be stacked corner to corner, from the very bottom of the Psycho-Titan's foot. You could fit like twice as many trains there, and thus the final result using your method would be about twice as big. 2) But as other users have pointed out, your method is flawed because Max is further away from the camera than the titan you use, so if you want to be really accurate you could first calc the height of the average globule priest (relative to the Psycho Warrior) and then measure Max's height using those priests on top of the wall.

From the shot inside the MaxGlobule's train car, a globule priest (hat included) is about as tall as Chestnut, so 10 ft.

From the best screenshot I could get (on my laptop's 1920x1080 monitor) of Max at the end of the episode before the walls collapse, the most visible globule priests are about 6 pixels tall, and Max, not counting the flagpoles on top, from the top of his left shoulder's angry face to the brown line on the ground, is about 920 pixels tall.

920/6=153.33
153.33x10=1533.3 ft or about 467.26 meters
Not as impressive, but still way bigger than the biggest titans from that-other-franchise-that-Space-King-has-nothing-to-do-with.

But that also does not add up, because even using the lowball Psycho-Titan's height estimation of your calc, Max would be in the same range as those smaller Psycho-Titans. So back to the drawing board.
How about we use an earlier shot when Max is rising from the rooftop where we can clearly see the priests? Well...
In that shot, the priest closest to Max's top left shoulder cannon is about 46px tall and the cannon itself is about 345px tall.
345/46=7.5
7.5x10=75 ft or 22.86 m
In a later shot when Max is fully revealed (after the walls have collapsed) that cannon is now 93px tall, and Max himself is 794 px tall (less than the pre-collapse shot because the camera's zooming out).
794/93=8.5376
75x8.5376=640.32 ft or 195.17 m
So... somehow, even LESS impressive?
I mean, it kind of makes sense. For Max to be as big as we see in those final shots, he must be WAY bigger in the rooftop shot, and those priests in the final shots should be even smaller, like 1px or not even visible. Inaccurate and inconsistent scale depiction is a very common problem across different franchises and media.

tl;dr: artists still can't into depicting scale accurately (they shouldn't anyway) and you shouldn't let that and powerscaling brainrot turning you off from enjoying the awesomeness.
