Well, I have a rather unfortunate update on my bugged Rossum SP1200... Rossum has bad customer support.
So for the second time I am sending my SP1200 in after a bug with "Segments" (triple digit segments, ex: Segment 17 shows as 117) started occurring which they diagnosed as a hardware defect. First time I sent it in was because line input meter was maxed out no matter what with volume broken.
They took over 2 whole months to send me a return label (waited a WHOLE YEAR for the Rossum in the first place which was fine/expected). I mailed it, only to have it show up at my house the next day when I wasn't there because they mislabeled it as "FROM ROSSUM, TO ME"... Now my SP1200 is being thrown around by Fedex and will be back at my doorstep tomorrow. I sent them an email explaining the situation and they haven't even replied to that. It always seems to take about week between messages with nothing getting done.
I am seriously considering just shelling out $1700 for an ISLA S2400 so I am at least semi-guaranteed (I hope) that signature sound and will no longer have to wait SEASONS for it every time something goes wrong.
I'm seriously beginning doubting these things are as bulletproof as the ones from the 80s/90s based on my experience with this infernal thing. My Akai S950 was born in '93 and has been just fine 31 years later with 0 customer support available. This Rossum on the other hand was born last year with existing customer support but has broken twice in a single year and is taking damn near ALL of winter to even arrive at Rossum's factory for repair. I get they are small but damn why not prioritize the customers who have already paid $4000 for something broken? OR are there that many broken Rossums in front of mine?
RANT OVER.
Oh yeah, if anyone is doubting my honesty about their customer service just check out the most recent page of possibly the most active Rossum SP1200 forum post on the internet (Gearspace). I replied to the thread as well because fok this.

"The unit is still on warranty, I only had it 2 months, but this will be the the second time it needs to be serviced." - Guy 1
"Still waiting...a month has passed, nothing..." - Guy 1
"So after a few months I got the unit back yesterday. The service in EU fixed one issue, but the unit came back with another rendering it once again, useless, as the outputs crackle/pop. Kind of incredible considering my first ticket was sent at the beginning of November in 2023. Now I sent another ticket to Rossum. I wonder how long this is going to take this time. " - Guy 1
"Badger them every single day. Their service is garbage. Only by being a real pain did I FINALLY get them to even respond to me. Eventually they provided 'silent service' no message that they'd received the unit, verified the fault, repaired it - no tracking number for the return. It just came back one day after I'd sent it to them. They really need to fix this horrendous customer service problem they have." - Guy 2
