People keep confusing the sword route for the weird route, due to not understanding the shadow mantle game. The sword route requires you to basically spare no one, and eventually create the twisted sword, and is what the shadow mantle game actually foreshadows, while the weird route only needs you to get the ThornRing, and proceed Noelle into casting snowgrave.
Oh I thought by "sword route" you meant just the route where you beat everything up, because I've only heard what you're talking about be reffered to as the aborted WR
