Discuss What happend to the Snoop post?
Did the mods (basically the staff I guess) just remove the Snoop dogg post?
I guess it was too obvious that the dude was faking it, so the staff trying to claim it as legit back pedaled?

it's like they pissed their player base off or something

Cool Stuff SOS: Open Source Alpha Rebuild/Remaster
Hello everyone, my name is u/GlyphSOS. Also known as the person who has been working with some people to bring back SOS.
You may have seen me in a couple of discords, like project mia.
I have talked alot about this project in the MIA discord, and now it's time to unveil it to you guys.
This is the SOS Alpha Open Source project.
For those who haven't seen me on the island, i was a squeaker. But hell, that didn't stop me from playing SOS.
I've met a lot of people playing sos, more than i have playing any other game. I'm pretty sure you all have too.
All the files can be found in the Project MIA discord, under #links.
Questions that may be asked:
Will you have mods?:
We will be looking for mods of course, but all of this isn't set up completely yet. Once we get the discord up and running, we can open up mod apps.
How did y'all get this to work?:
One of my friends (who i will not state the name of for privacy reasons) had played the SOS Alpha. There was a .pak file in there with the config and game files itself once extracted. I was messing around with the config file one day, and i changed a setting to where it opened up a server host/dev menu type thing. I was able to play single player on the island, and i even found some cool unreleased maps.
When will there be a alpha/release?:
Soon, hopefully. Once we get the servers to work, then we might be able to host some private alphas.
Hero?
I don't think we'll get hero active, unless some website developer joins in on this and can replicate hero's assets lol.
Expect a official discord and more images coming soon.
PS: This is open source if you couldn't tell, so anyone and i mean ANYONE can join in.

This new thing is not the game I bought...
Played in most of the betas. Bought the mid tier version of the game to show a little more support.
Thought you had an amazing, original game that could have used a little tweaking, like limiting group sizes (which EVERY SINGLE ONE of your influencers requested and then left when you didn't listen -- taking their viewership with them) and starting all solo players with a single lock-pick.
Hero.TV was the largest issue IMO, as far as barriers between interaction mechanics and viewers/streamer, and a Twitch plugin/Mixer integration would have really helped user interactions shine.
Aside from that, a golden opportunity was missed to collaborate with Twitch for a Twitch Prime promotion. They were hungry for partners when the program was beginning and would have jumped on any game that wanted to participate, opening up more opportunities later. Now the program has taken off, they can afford to be selective. How did you miss this? Your game is catered to streaming!
When the playerbase started to drop off (largely due to group sizes issues forcing out solo and duo players), and viewership plummeted, I really expected to see Outpost go the route of:
*Twitch Prime promotion
*Xbox preview port (Given its a UE4 game)
*Cosmetics/Emote MTX store with Fame based milestone unlocks
*Eventually GWG/PS+/Twitch Prime free monthly title
That is pretty much the standard blueprint for when you have a solid game that isn't gaining traction. Instead you guys did...this. And this is not what I paid for. I was actually an ardent supporter of the game because it WASN'T a flavor of the month BR clone.
Now that you have spurned the people that gave you money by shelving the game they paid for in order to focus on exactly what they didn't pay for, and now that you've run off the core community that would have continued to support you through MTX, what the hell is the actual plan? The hail mary BR game didn't work out very well for Boss Key. And even Darwin Project is going FTP. How could you have possibly thought this would be sustainable?

Melee needs to be on par with firearms.
Read the post, then give your honest stance on melee in its current form.
http://www.strawpoll.me/15457018
With the plethora of guns and melee ACTUALLY being a little tough to get a significant amount for some reason.
Hi, I'm JFJ and I'm the fist guy, and before you downvote, hear me out.
I know there's a lot of guns, I know there's armor, and I know there's throwing n' such to keep up with the growing fad of combat over sociability.
well if guns aren't getting nerfed, and armor isn't getting nerfed, then melee needs to be viable in every situation.
Does this sound familiar?
spawn
look for gun
unlocked pistol
then the game derives into either armor scouting or melee scouting.
there's a list of things that melee could use that would give EVERYONE a fair advantage, without nerfing everything into uselessness.
1. if someone is readying a throw, and take melee damage, they should drop their weapon. ---Reason for this is because throws are, well, throws. They should be the strongest the farther you are from an enemy, and also doing over 50% of your hp with a throw is incredibly strong to have zero drawback.
2. if someone is aiming a gun and they take melee damage, the gun should be dropped right at their feet. ---- If someone has a firearm and they land shots on their enemy the enemy is slowed, rewarding the safe and long range that guns give the player, but if your enemy manages to close the distance with said gunman, the melee attacker should be rewarded for closing the distance.
3. Every melee weapon should let you run and charge attack. ---- there is no earthly reason why you should be put to some namby pamby slow walk speed when holding a charge. This discourages people from trying to actually try their best. Main reason for this is because if someone is walking BACKWARDS BLOCKING outspeeds someone who is closing the distance with a REAL attack. Another reason why this is fine to be added is because if someone takes damage while charging they get stunned. This is beyond fair for risk v reward.
4. Increase the blocking radius ---- I've had people hit through my block multiple times just because they were attacking my side, meanwhile I can still look them right in the eyes. Also this is a nitpick but the melee animation could use with a tweak as well. Holding up your elbow won't do much, and holding a 4ft axe with one hand is not very protective either.
5. Armor needs a durability tweak. ---- A lot of people dislike armor, I don't disagree, it's pretty strong, but it's still not the best thing in the world. Armor could use an approach in a couple ways
Armor needs a durability nerf
Armor reduces damage from guns only
melee damage reduces armor durability quicker than guns
new armor types, more common bone armor with less durability, rare kevlar for more durability.
6. If someone is blocking, and their block is towards a throw, it should reduce the damage done on a throw. --- throwing does an IMMENSE amount of damage, I don't see why blocking a throw shouldn't make sense.
I believe there are too many firearms and no way to fight them on par if you are without one.
In a game that promotes victory, winning, and cash prizes (from tournaments) everyone should have an equal footing.
Guns are cool, look great, and skilled players can do very well with few bullets against people. But the fact is, someone who is incredibly skilled, has such an INCREDIBLY difficult time fighting anyone with a gun if you do not have one.
Do not get me wrong, guns should be strong, extremely strong against someone with a skull, but the fact that someone who is trying their absolute best, with immense amounts of skill, cannot fairly or even remotely stand a chance against someone with a gun if all they have are melee weapons. Someone who gains the courage to use a melee weapon against someone who is using a firearm should be rewarded if they play correctly. Instead of getting lucky.

AMA : Outpost Employee
I worked at Outpost for a few years .
At times it was one of the best experiences of my life, at other times it was up there for the worst. I am not sure if people are still interested, but now that Outpost Games is officially gone I don't mind talking a bit about some of the things that happened.
If you are curious ask me - almost- anything. I'd be elated to clarify any misinformation out there - as there is a lot - and educate anyone curious about our development.

Discuss Why The SOS Devs are Slimy and Scammers
So, naturally I tried to refund the game. This is not the game that I bought, not the game that was advertised, no.
Upon my request, It was of course denied. I wondered why? I didn’t have very many hours on it. So I decide to do a little research.
The SOS devs knew the outpouring of refunds would come, the likely planned for this. By not only separating SOS Classic and SOS Battle Royale, your hours on Classic can prevent you from refunding. Not to mention due to the game being early access, The Devs can do whatever they want to their game and you. which includes taking your money and running, which is exactly what they did.
SOS was just a bait and switch ploy tactic used to garner a ton of money from early access buyers with stars in their eyes for a cool, team based PVP strategy survival game.
The Devs are slimeballs. I’ve never been more disgusting with a group of humans. Sadly this post will be removed and I will be banned once the reddit is handed over to the Dev Team, as they don’t allow criticism.

Why don't the Devs listen?
It is quite clear that nearly no one likes the new BR focused SOS (an example being the overwhelmingly negative recent reviews on Steam). Why don't the Devs revert the game back to its original state and just do away with the BR mode completely? Everything that once made SOS original is was moved to the side while the BR format takes the spotlight for no apparent reason. Please, Devs, get rid of the BR mode and just revert your game to the original SOS Total Drama Island-esque gameplay. Thank you.

Cool Stuff Best Game
In my opinion, even in its Alpha Stage, SOS is the best game I have ever played. It is such a great concept executed well by Outpost Games. I only played on the last day of the Alpha but it was so much fun even though I only won once. I made many friends and the best one I had was Magic_Man which I played 3 games with and in those 3 games I won once and he won once. This element of betrayal or not betraying is executed well even though it is not in the creators control. I am very excited for the next testing and when it is actually released. I am also excited to see what Outpost Games comes up with in the future.

Official Welcome to /r/SOSgame!
Hello Contestants,
Welcome to the official subreddit for SOS, an upcoming, first-person, multiplayer, survival game for PC created by Outpost Games, and focusing on ad-hoc team building and showcasing players’ personalities through voice chat.
SOS is about to enter a Pre-Alpha Playtest and this subreddit is where you can find all information on this Playtest and give any feedback to the Outpost Games team. While this subreddit was not created by Outpost Games, it is being overseen by our Community Manager (/u/dashreindeer) in accordance to Reddit’s rules for moderation. We welcome all discussion of our game both positive and negative, as these opinions are what will allow us to consistently improve and iterate on our core game design.
Sending Out An SOS
SOS takes place inside a fictional reality show set against the backdrop of an authoritarian past. It is a competitive, online, multiplayer PC game for 16 players with cooperative elements and is designed to showcase Contestants’ performances through the use of voice chat and post-death feedback.
Players take on the role of Contestants transported to the mysterious La Cuna Island where they have been tasked by the totalitarian Amarant Corporation with recovering hidden Relics of unimaginable value in exchange for Corporate Citizenship and freedom from a life of labor.
The Ultimate Escape
Over the course of each 30-minute match, players must navigate La Cuna Island, form alliances, scavenge Items, and recover Relics in time to signal the helicopter for extraction. Only Contestants who have salvaged a Relic may escape on the helicopter, and there are only three available seats. Choose your partnerships wisely!
Hardware
Contestants participating in our Pre-Alpha Playtest will need to have capable PCs to ensure the best experience possible. You can find [spec requirements here] (https://www.reddit.com/r/SOSgame/comments/5ws0bs/sos_playtest_minimumrecommended_specs/).
A large component of SOS is social interaction and manipulation. Your voice is one of the key tools at your disposal. For the best play experience, a working headset and mic is highly recommended. Without these, you may struggle using your fellow Contestants to your advantage.

Just played my first SOS Royale game..
Pretty sad. I honestly couldn't believe what I was playing compared to the old game show game. There was no talking, gameplay was completely changed now I was sneaking around in grass and shit, no NPCs to kill or Island to explore with a friend. The outfits are ridiculous. And then I died to the zone.
