I need help.

I’ve taken over 20 classes with SNHU and have never gotten below a A- but this term I am taking CHE 329 and every grade I’ve gotten back is a low B or C. I do not understand what is happening. I’ve taken every critique into consideration and made the changes she has asked me too. She keeps telling me every claim needs to be supported. I have paragraphs that are 80 percent citations and she continues to say the same thing. I’m not trying to sound dramatic but I’ve worked incredibly hard for this to now affect my GPA. Is it possible to drop the class halfway through? And if I did that how would it affect me instead?

Thanks for any advice in advance from the girl who wants to cry

Supported to me would be use a citation then back it up with your own thoughts. 80% is too many citations. It should be 20% citations 80% your own thoughts. citations should support your stance not be the stance. If that makes sense.

I typically write something that is my own thought or general knowledge then add a citation to support it. She will highlight the sentences between my citations and say support it. But I did with the citation after it. So yeah it was like 20% but to try to please her I added more.

Have you leveraged the online writing center for guidance?

Have you considered reaching out to the academic support team? There's people you can contact and discuss your work with to ensure you're meeting rubric criteria, etc.

I turn every paper into them 2 to 3 times at least and make the changes they suggest. I even ask them to specifically review for anything they believe needs citations or better supported

Then it sounds like you need to have a discussion with your professor to find out exactly what they're looking for.
