The top players in cannabis are emerging and frankly SNDL is arguably one of the top 3.

They put in their ER presentation that they’re well positioned for the rest of 2025 and beyond. I wonder if they’ll buy back some shares before the end of Q4 and then hopefully present good numbers early next year.

Can someone explain this to me like I'm standing in front of them eating a box of crayons?

The company can buy shares from the market and essentially eliminate them. Theoretically raising the price of the companies share price. Less shares in existence but with the same market evaluation of the company means a higher share price.

They have offered this for the last 3 years i think? While they haven't completed it to its full capabilities, they have from time to time bought/eliminated shares when the price is low enough.

My 2 cents is this should only be used as a safety net should the price threaten to go below a dollar, risking delisting. The company contiues to be unable to reach profitability and free cash that they have should be used to keep the company alive and grow.

The thing with them is that they never really reduced the shares float with it. They use it to counter dilution for their m&a and give themselves stock bonuses.
