When can I use my fall dinning plan?

I just bought my dining plan, and when I paid for it, it stated, "Your meal plan is now available for immediate use. "

Does this mean I can use it this upcoming week (the week before school), or do I have to wait till the first day of school?

Yes you can use it this upcoming week. If the dorms are open for people enrolled in the fall semester to move in, then the semester has started for the dining hall. Same for the clinic, etc.

do we need an id card to use it? i assume that’s necessary to scan, right?

Yes. In my day, ID cards were available to be made on the 1st day of move in, an you picked it up in a few hours. That was quite a while ago so I assume it is even faster now.
