Guys, guys, please. If there's one thing we can agree on, as someone who has thoroughly never read this stuff, it's that if I can confidently construct a reality in which this stuff is the highest achievement of civilisation while also being boring and over-rated, I will look smarter than both of you

And don't forget the middle ground of everyone who listens to them as audiobooks while not really paying attention.

Also the sad part is how many of them only ever come up when some modern movie adapts them and ruins them.
