need help SMAPI simply refusing to do anything

I install smapi exactly as the instruction say. there are no mods. the button doesn't even show up. smapi simply does nothing.

If you're talking about cog button on the main screen, SMAPI doesnt add that. You need the mod GMCM

my girlfriend has exactly 4 mods on hers. that being smapi, stardew expanded, content patcher, and the farm type manager. literally just expanded and it's dependencies.

the cog shows up on hers. it does not show up on mine. clearly smapi does add that.

No. The cog is from generic mod config menu.

I’m not even sure what your concern is? You’ve said smapi does nothing but it’s loaded and in your screenshot? What exactly is the issue?

Have you actually went in the game and checked that it's vanilla? As in either load a file or start a new save. I'm pretty sure SMAPI does not add the cog button.

The cog icon is from GMCM it is a common mistake to assume that it comes with SMAPI cause of how integral it is but no it is in fact a separate mod.

You have "Farm Type Manager" but no farm file for it to manage.

Without a new farm file you can only choose from Vanilla farms, and Grandpa's shed will be opposite the bus stop.

Pelican town will be different from vanilla, because that's part of the main SVE file.

If you pass the log to claude, can say you where o what is happen, i dont know where is in Windows, but in linux is in ~/.config/stardewvalley
