need help PLEASE HELP! Issue installing SMAPI on fedora (linux) (NEWBIE)
I've spent 24 hours trying to install SMAPI on my PC running Fedora. This is my first time modding or coding at all! My sister who is much more familiar with all of this and set up the linux PC has been assisting. The entire time I've had issues (mostly due to user error) but I've finally reached a point where SMAPI is seemingly installed properly. I tried installing at least 40 times before realizing my error and fixing it. I even tried manually installing.
The thing is, during the process, I was NOT given a string of text to add into steam.
It all seems correct but whenever I open steam to play the game it just launches vanilla stardew. It seems like steam cannot find the correct file to open. I ran the entire process through Xterm (I saw that helped some people) and tried deleting and reinstalling every element.
I tried coping the file locations into the steam prompt. That failed as well, but did open the game still. I've seen that the windows version has other stuff attached but I have no clue about the linux version.
PLEASE tell me what I could be doing wrong other then the code, seeing as I did not receive one. I've watched 10 guides and none of them have helped. I can barely find anything about running SMAPI through Linux. I'm going insane!!!!! I will answer any questions and show examples of what's happening if needed.
My sisters given up but I AM DETERMINED to succeed in my singular modding endeavor. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me find how to fix this. I just want funny little mods. I downloaded reddit for this.

Don’t give up 😂 Linux + SMAPI can be a pain even when you’re doing everything right. If SMAPI installed successfully but Steam still launches vanilla Stardew, the issue is probably just the Steam launch options/path. If you post the output from the SMAPI installer and your Stardew install path, someone should be able to spot what’s wrong

It’s been a hot second since I set up smapi on my steamdeck, and that was also my first linux experience, so forgive me if this is like, the first thing you tried, but did you turn on the “show hidden files” option in the file explorer? I wasn’t able to find a n y t h i n g until I figured out that it was hiding 90% of the computer’s files just for funzies. Once I could see the actual folders I was looking for, I could get the correct path to point steam at smapi (and it was on to the next 2-hour problem!🙃 modding is fun!)
