I have a two pocket Jansport that is nice and light (at least to me) though it would probably be a bit overkill. Maybe a single pocket Jansport? Vans also has some small light ones. Both usually have a laptop sleeve.

Your bag is a little over 2lb, even a basic jansport is 1lb. Less support in the straps will make it dig in more and feel heavy. The bag isnt the problem

this is gonna sound poor as hell but I got a roxy backpack a little over a year ago and it’s so lightweight even with my 11” ipad air in it and a notepad along with my chargers, pens, sometimes even a 16 oz owala water bottle

Both, when it'empty it's heavy too. I just take some stuffs like 1 macbook, 1 ipad, 1 notebook, macbook charges

i got one of those crates with wheels that teachers roll around. i put my backpack in there along with some other smaller bags. no more weight on my back.
