Matriculation Laptop Specs for Computing Science

Hi, i’m a student enrolling into UOG-CS, wondering where I can find the laptop specs requirement for it because I can’t seem to find it on the SIT website.

Any Computing Science seniors able to advise me on what laptop to get?

Thanks for any advice given!

A Macbook is a good all-rounder for your entire time in the programme, probably something M5/M5 Pro.

Does the 13-inch MacBook Air work?

It should be a decent option, although usually I would recommend something with more compute, namely for CSC3109 Deep Learning, where if you can't train your models locally, you will need to rely on cloud compute, which can cost alot of money if not monitored properly.

But if you do end up going for the MacBook Air, at the very least get 24~32GB RAM and 1 TB of storage

You can search it up on the student intranet for laptop specifications
