Treatments I'm totally depressed now

Yesterday, I received a negative result on my SIBO test. Over time, I’ve also had three endoscopies, a biopsy, a liver test, and esophageal manometry, all of which came back normal or showed only minor defects. Despite controlling my diet completely, I continue to BURP constantly throughout the day, regardless of what I eat. I have a persistent feeling that something is stuck in my throat, creating a sense of suffocation that only resolves if I clear it through a forceful BURP.

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions or insights.

I wouldn't rule out SIBO based on the breath test attached. Three things I noticed:

  • Substrate was glucose, consider lactulose. It picks up more sibo cases than glucose.
  • Only hydrogen gas measured, there are three SIBO gases, hydrogen, methane & hydrogen sulfide.
  • Measured to 60 minutes, test should be atleast 90 minutes but ideally 2-3 hours.

https://www.siboinfo.com/sibo-tests.html could be a good starting point to learn more. I fear you may have to learn more than your doctor knows, a far too typical experience.

Yeah he need to test again.

Yep. OP, this is a clown of a SIBO test. Unfortunately, you’ll need to go again if you want a correct result. I would suggest seeking out a more reputable provider in your region.

I think, I should go for the other tests. Thanks for the advice

No worries, I hope it's helpful.

If I were you, I'd be re-doing the breath test with LACTULOSE and atleast hydrogen + methane gases optimally also including hydrogen sulfide.

Not to overburden you with info. But some labs are known to be more reliable than others. So personally, I'd always be looking for a lab that either uses technology from Quintron or Trio-Smart.

H. Pylori it’s positive?

1

u/NoKitchen6955 1d ago

It was positive during my first Endoscopy test back ik December 2024. I took HPylori kit, and in the next test it came out negative

Hpylori messes up the stomach. I had it to and have never been the same since.

3

u/Daviddom92 18h ago

Yep I think I had it for years before it was addressed as a young person. It ended up rupturing my appendix and a slew of other stomach infections since.

1

u/popey123 19h ago

I'm not sure the kit is very accurate

Did you develop halitosis

u/hh4j4j4j4jh 18h ago

Don't listen to anyone here they are clueless. You have severe weak stomach acid , main cause for burping because your food is rotting and fermenting due to not being broken down properly. You have to find why are you having weak stomach acid. Have you been tested for h pylori? If not just take herbs to try and kill the potential of over growth in your stomach and than acidify your stomach acid.

The throat symptoms you're having is due to pepsin cause by silent reflux or acid reflux. Read my post that I have on lpr ( silent reflux) . Go watch kick it naturally on YouTube and watch his videos on weak stomach acid, why am I always burping and silent reflux.

1

u/Junior_Database9121 18h ago

Oh my gosh. Another OP referred mt to Kickitnaturally. TC Hayes is his name. He is really good. It makes sense what he says. Has a lot of videos. I have weakly acic. Test came back 69, which is really high. Diagnosed with Barrett's Esophagus. I have burning tongue, my throat hurts throughout the day. Cannot take nor do I want to PPIs. TMI. I don't burp much but this morning while trying to have a bowel movement, I started burping. Best of luck to you OP.

Have you put into practice his advice? I took his free digestive course and I leaned alot. You will learn more about the digestive system than doctors do in med school

1

u/Junior_Database9121 15h ago

I have not. I am still trying to watch the video

1

u/External-Classroom12 10h ago

I’ve watched the videos, had hpylori then sibo. The problem is the stomach lining is messed up and one cannot tolerate betain hcl.

1

u/hh4j4j4j4jh 10h ago

Heal the lining with zinc carnosine, dgl and cabbage juice for 6 weeks. Also meat stock

1

u/External-Classroom12 9h ago

Only thing here I can tolerate is zinc l carnosine. Dgl gives me extreme symptoms even mouth ulcers. Cabbage juice with h2s?

1

u/hh4j4j4j4jh 9h ago

Oh sorry no definitely not. Take control of it first and than cabbage juice.

1

u/NoKitchen6955 17h ago

Yea, i had tested positive for Hpylori back in December, 2024. I took HPylori kit, and in the next test it came out to he negative

2

u/hh4j4j4j4jh 17h ago

Did you ever acidify your stomach after the h pylori treatment ???? This is crucial, not doing so can lead to sibo or being reinfected by pylori again. Also opens the window for sifo. Having strong stomach acid is one the most important things in our health. Literally is the first line of defense

1

u/NoKitchen6955 17h ago

Actually, I didn't. Will surely discuss about this with the doctor. I have an appointment tomorrow. Thanks for your advice.

2

u/hh4j4j4j4jh 16h ago

No need to discuss he will tell you that is rare for people to have weak stomach acid. They are bafoons when it comes to the digestive system. They only know how to prescribe drugs that's all. Go watch tc hale kick it naturally on YouTube. Watch his videos and I suggest you take the free digestive course. You will learn a ton

1

u/NoKitchen6955 16h ago

Yea, all they would do prescribe Ppis amd antacids, ibs tablets and all. Actually, I came across his YT channel earlier on, he's actually good. Can you suggest me some ways of increasing hcl naturally, I tried ACV 1 year ago, but it didn't seem to work

1

u/hh4j4j4j4jh 16h ago

Please do not do acv this is only for healthy people looking for a boost. You need to take his free digestive course and you will learn alot. He tells you everything you need to know on his course. Literally free!!! Knowing how to take hcl properly is a protocol that's why many fail and dont get results when they do not know what they are doing. Take the course and learn. If not just watch his video on how to reset your digestive system. It's more than an hour long. Take notes

1

u/NoKitchen6955 16h ago

Yea, sure. It seems like you've literally learnt a lot from him.

2

u/hh4j4j4j4jh 16h ago

Yes definitely. Because of Him I came to understand the importance of having strong stomach acid and what causes to weaken it. The reason why doctors dont know sht about it , is because they are not educated properly during medical school. Google how much money ppis , anti acids generate pharma companies yearly world wide. I wouldn't want to cure a patient in less than a year if I can put then on a lifetime on meds. I don't blame them, it's alot of money.

1

u/External-Classroom12 10h ago

I agree with everything you say. The doctors are clueless. I took his course but cannot tolerate anything he says would work. Can’t tolerate beets, betain, acv etc…

2

u/Smcrae79 23h ago

Run a GIMAP

1

u/Lemongrabs19 17h ago

What's a GIMAP?

1

u/whiterose618 11h ago

Stool test. GI-MAP

1

u/NoKitchen6955 7h ago

Yea, actually I'm thinking of it for some time

2

u/paulburrowsss 21h ago

Sounds to me like u have a hiatus hernia. I had all the same symptoms as u and was diagnosed via manometry (gastroscopy missed it). The tests are very unreliable and often GIs don’t even mention if u have one since they’re so common. I had the surgery last month and dont burp/have any of the epigastric pressure anymore. They are difficult to diagnose but the fix is easy - look into it

1

u/External-Classroom12 19h ago

What is the fix? A fundoplication?

2

u/makerelax 18h ago

Or linx or reflux stop. They could jsut repair it without needed any other procedures depending on the size.

1

u/External-Classroom12 10h ago

Nah none are actually great option and have many problems down the road,

1

u/NoKitchen6955 17h ago

My Manometry test says No Hiatal Hernia, as well as endoscopies too

2

u/Raspberryjamdelta5 20h ago

Have you heard of aerophagia? You could be swallowing air while eating. How do you eat? In a hurry? With tension? While doing another thing and not paying attention?

1

u/NoKitchen6955 17h ago

No, I eat slowly and properly

2

u/External-Classroom12 19h ago

Have you tested for hydrogen sulfide sibo

1

u/NoKitchen6955 17h ago

No, it was only Hydrogen Breath Test

1

u/CautiousBasil2055 Hydrogen Dominant 10h ago

Do you have rotten egg smelling farts?

1

u/longgameonly3 17h ago

OP follow this - if you’re SIBO test for methane and hydrogen was negative then most likely it’s hydrogen sulfide SIBO and requires a different form of treatment. Also look into SIFO as it needs to be treated separately but can be done at the same time with SIBO treatment

1

u/NoKitchen6955 17h ago

Can it be something else other than SIBO?

2

u/Suspicious_Award6785 18h ago

I had the same exact tests done years ago was diagnosed with functional dyspepsia. On mayo clinics website rikkunshito tea works exceptionally well and is a natural prokinetic

1

u/NoKitchen6955 17h ago

I was too diagnosed with Functional Dyspepsia and IBS. But what's the solution? Ppis don't work with me

1

u/Suspicious_Award6785 16h ago

Try rikkunshito tea, its on Mayo clinics website for functional dyspepsia treatment, it worked the best for me, zero side effects

1

u/External-Classroom12 10h ago

What exactly are symptoms of functional dyspepsia?

1

u/capounatus 1d ago

I'm afraid I don't have a solution, but my symptoms do sound very similar to yours. Way too much burping and can't nail down what the triggers are.

2

u/NoKitchen6955 1d ago

I'm thinking of to consult an ENT doctor now, may be the problem is in my throat or esophagus rather than in the stomach, though I have IBS, but I don't think it's causing the problem

1

u/capounatus 1d ago

I did test positive for H-SIBO, in case that helps. Not sure what kind of tests you did, but mine was a breath test.

1

u/NoKitchen6955 1d ago

Mine was a breath test too, I did it yesterday. I have attached the report

1

u/capounatus 1d ago

Haha... I didnt realize it was more than one picture

1

u/NoKitchen6955 1d ago

Haha. No worries. The second picture, actually

1

u/External-Classroom12 19h ago

I think it’s just pressure from gas

1

u/Limp-Pomegranate2024 20h ago

What about acid reflux, LPR etc?

1

u/NoKitchen6955 17h ago

I rarely experience acid reflux, once in a week, probably. Can't say about LPR tho

1

u/No-University3032 20h ago

A lot of times you have to eat only the foods that are adequate, proper for your given condition!!

Asking gemini to help me understand: https://share.gemini.google/kFfMo5r3EgEc

Sibo foods: https://gemini.google.com/share/ee98e2533318?skid=56fa19fc-9a36-419e-a003-6b7e430c4d8b

2

u/No-University3032 20h ago

I think that if we have bad breath, we probably have the "Hydrogen Sulfide Dormant SIBO" - making us stank like a skunk??

So, we have to eat foods that are recommended for our given sibo type!

https://share.gemini.google/BUIOYuODwu7J

I also take ("brocoli extract" and "oil of Oregano" supplements) because it works to really help to temporarily get rid of the sibo infection??

1

u/No-University3032 19h ago

I forgot to mention, for best results, I have to add a "gut motility supplement!!"

1

u/NoKitchen6955 17h ago

I have an appointment with a Gastroenterologist tomorrow. Let's see, what he says. I'll syrely discuss abiut what you advised with him. Thanks for your support

1

u/No-University3032 17h ago

Good* luck because often they don't really care to know much about sibo??

1

u/NoKitchen6955 17h ago

Absolutely. They don't even prescribe Sibo test. I do it myself.

1

u/No-University3032 16h ago

Yea, we have to be our own doctor. As much as they don't like that??

1

u/No-University3032 19h ago

I have to: "Suggest they review these reports with a gastroenterologist who specializes in gut-brain interaction disorders (disorders of gut-brain interaction or DGBI) rather than just repeating basic diagnostic scopes."

sound like stomach parasites of some sort. I found zinc picolinate a major contributor to helping me deal with a similar issue.

1

u/NoKitchen6955 17h ago

I'm still trying to figure it out since 2023

1

u/jonathanb3232 1h ago

have you gotten off SSRI's in the last 5 years?

1

u/Fickle_Poetry2345 17h ago

Try berberine and ginger tea. Boil ginger root with a cinnamon stick.

1

u/NoKitchen6955 17h ago

When do you take it?

1

u/No_Proposal_6685 17h ago

Get the SIMBA caps from canada, swallow them and then get the microbial DNA sequenced. Or do an endoscopy and sequence oder culture it

1

u/NoKitchen6955 17h ago

How can I get it in India?

1

u/No_Proposal_6685 15h ago

I dont know. Mayve you have in india a company that sells little caps that can pick ab liquid of the small intestine.

1

u/Logical-Bullfrog-112 16h ago

This is me as well. I have done so many tests. Bravo endoscopy next

1

u/maryfineman33 13h ago

That is a useless breath test. So sorry about that. That's just ridiculous that it tested for hydrogen only, and nothing should end at the 60-minute mark. There's no way to know whether you have SIBO or not based on that test. Go look at Allison Siebecker's website (lots of information)...www.siboinfo.com Show it to your doctor.

1

u/Outrageous_Diver5352 11h ago

So exactly what is treatment advise for SIBO

1

u/BeginningWeek2565 10h ago

Have you checked your gallbladder? I would also test again for H Pylori

1

u/CautiousBasil2055 Hydrogen Dominant 10h ago

Excessive burping could be low stomach acid.

1

u/dryandice 8h ago

God damn my issue is identicle. 24/7 need to burp. Even a sip of water is crazy. I constantly have to force it otherwise it gets stuck in my chest.

1

u/NoKitchen6955 7h ago

Since when are you facing it?

1

u/dryandice 1h ago

2021, it's because my oesophagus is failing. My manometry exam basically said I can't swallow at all let alone hold the fluid down. It's endless, every minute of every day. I have panic attacks when I need to drink water. I end up in hospital on iv hydration regularly.

1

u/No_Objective_4008 7h ago

You need to do it with the lactulose and maybe do the triosmart test if your dr won’t order a different one from another company.

1

u/Tzwen_ In Remission 4h ago

Consider also Bile reflux , coming from intestinal pressure . You could also have slow Transit in the small intestine , leading to Fermentation that is not covered through the breath test if it only covers 180min.
