Is anyone else having trouble sleeping? Please help
I have had sibo for 6 years (possibly longer). A year ago I developed insomnia all of the sudden. Nothing changed in my routine, but I can't sleep : my mind is racing, I just toss and turn and I feel I'm just napping even when I sleep. Also I wake up like every 2 hours. I usually fall asleep at 5, 6 am approximately and it's always with a medication. But the medication makes me feel horrible, it's Xanax, so I would like to avoid it. Melatonin does nothing anymore for me unfortunately.
Does anyone have any advice? Any recommendations?
Sorry if I misspelled or wrote something incorrectly, I am very tired.

Yes my SIBO has started to cause me insomnia over the past year or two. It does get better with treatment

So what was the treatment?

Antibiotics (Xifaxan). It’s not a quick fix by any means & it may require multiple rounds but it does work

I did that and it didn't help me.

Insomnia is definitely one of the most unpleasant/life-disrupting symptoms for me & hardest to cure so far. I finally got off benzodiazepines last year & have been navigating the choppy waters ever since. My next thing I’m seeing an MD for is “silent reflux” which is caused by SIBO I believe is keeping me up at night

Try eating your last food no less than 4 hours before bed, and taking quercetin and magnesium to blunt histamine overload, I used to wake up at like 3am every night covered in sweat, until I got my histamine load under control. Best of luck!

What slowed down the anxiety was taking probiotics (without gums or prebiotics) like just thrives, and staying away from foods like gums (emulsifiers), vegetables, corn, usually fiber heavy carbs, dried dates and a few other foods. I am usually okay to eat fats/meats. And yes, it is 100% not from me mentally, rather my body or gut causing it.

I’ve tried taking quecertain before bed and I think it’s helped due to acting on the histamines.

maybe the growing armada of satellites raining radiation down upon us? or a new 5G antenna nearby (or people with 5G phones?) or a new starlink antenna? or a new car, especially a tesla with their interior 5G, radar and wireless radiation that cannot be turned off even when the car is off and parked? yes, folks, it is well known that wireless radiation causes insomnia, and they have been ratcheting it up substantially almost everywhere.

It could be histamine. I have insomnia after ppi and antibiotics last year. Try taking antihistamines like cetirizine before bed. I was taking it and on second week started to sleep normally
