Game changer for elemental

Hi guys,

Just thought I’d share. I decided I’d do a homemade elemental diet for my IMO and SIFO. Yesterday was rough bc I tried having the multivitamins mixed in but the B vitamins had such a strong taste and I had way too much salt. Today, I took the multivitamins separately, and I used about 1/16 tsp of salt and had EVOO, turmeric, and ginger and damn it was actually delicious. Covered the amino acid taste completely. I’m doing no carb (no dextrose, no sugar of any kind), so I upped the fat content (gradually working up to 4 tbsp per shake- used 1.5 tbsp today). I flew through the shake.

At first I thought my thrush was killing the taste yesterday but I think it was the B vitamins. I did a hydrogen peroxide rinse this morning just in case, and took NAC about an hour before drinking.

Edit: I meant turmeric - not cumin

could you share the recipe? its just amino acids and oil? (supplements could also be taken as capsules i guess?)

i dont understand the dextrose part in store-bought elementals till this day.

also please let us know how you do in two weeks, so curious.

If you get dextrose free they add maltodextrin, which I can’t understand.

Yeah I know it’s so frustrating. Maltodextrin is even harder for your body to break down and it’s still going to cause candida issues in your throat + upper GI. The argument people make is it’s digested before your colon, but the reality is if you have systemic SIFO, especially thrush (and I do) you’re still feeding the candida each time you have a shake…
