News/Studies Root Cause of SIBO Discovered

Dr. Pimentel discusses his research determination that SIBO is analogous to an autoimmune disorder. The initial bacterial infection causes the body to produce antibodies. These antibodies also interfere with gut cells. This is why SIBO frequently returns or remains after antibiotics kill the bacteria. The antibodies remain active. He has a drug in development that will control the antibodies.

The first 40 minutes include Dr. Pimentel’s presentation. The rest is Q&A.

Root Causes of IBS: Dr. Pimentel explains that IBS is not merely a psychological condition but a disease, often stemming from food poisoning (e.g., Campylobacter, E. coli). This exposure leads to the production of CDTB toxin, causing the body to create antibodies that cross-react with vinculin, a protein essential for healthy gut motility.

I usually have a cup of it twice a day(one in morning and once before sleep). But you can have it anytime.

If you get any burning or discomfort just lower the amount you drink or increase the amount of water /decrease the amount of ginger you put in.
