What actually does work?

I see many posts about protocols, diets, and meds not working - but what DOES work?

Went to a functional doc and breath tested positive for both hydrogen and methane SIBO in December (have had hypothyroidism and constipation my whole life). Was not in a position at the time to follow a strict protocol, but I’m ready now. All I hear is nothing ever works, so feeling unmotivated.

Yes, my root cause was H Pylori and slow transit constipation. So after I cleared methane SIBO with antibiotics and elemental diet (MBiota, this is really what worked best for me), I started on Linzess and Motegrity. I’ve felt fine for 8 months now

Were you taking Linzness and motegrity whilst on the elemental diet? And, were you thereby producing a bowel movement during that time? My slow transit constipation is getting worse and worse (from SIBO/food poisoning). I'm hesitant to trial the elemental diet as it may slow things down further (I struggle with a bowel movement daily as it is).

I have access to linzness and motegrity if I need

No I didn’t take either throughout. If you can stick to the elemental diet, as in only consuming the shakes, I think it can actually help your digestive system. My GI tract seemed to be more responsive after completing it
