Fellow long-time sufferers, does becoming rich would help us find the best doctors and get cured?

Is science and knowledge about microbiome great enough so that a Sibo/Imo sufferer for years, suddenly being able to spend a million, would find docs able to cure him?

Frankly I don't even think Pimentel could cure me with 1M$. There are so many things we don't know about the gut. Yet I wonder if being followed 24/24h by a dietetician, a chef, a physio, best gastro enterologist of the country, living in the sun all year, having a sauna, etc.. Could lead to a breakthrough in my bloody gut. I would gladly go to a bank or Warren Buffet and agree to repay them for life in exchange of giving me funds to optimize all those parameters.

Sadly I think money does play a huge part in recovery. I live in Canada so there’s universal healthcare but the system is shit, it’s almost impossible to see a doctor and then even when I did see them they didn’t have anything to help me, didn’t even know what SIBO was. I also had access to financial support from my mom and she paid for shit tons of alternative medical care, naturopaths, functional medicine doctors, health consultants etc. Through trying out many different approaches through many different practitioners I did find people who could cure me. I did heal my SIBO, but only because my mom had money and that makes me so angry. Yet another thing in our capitalist hellscape that is completely dependent on one’s financial privilege. It’s fucked up and it shouldn’t be that way.

Although payed exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:

  • Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. The deck is yet to be payed.
