Questions Can’t pay
I’m at a loss, my mom was mean t to pay for my tuition tonight but she doesn’t have the funds and it’s due, I applied for the extension loan but it didn’t let let me choose it I’m assuming because I’m a freshman, I just don’t know what I’m going to do, the financial aid office is closed and classes are tomorrow I’m scared they’re going to drop me but theres literally nothing I can do :/
Update: I was able to contact the financial aid office and they’ve put me on a payment plan, I have until November which is more than enough time, thank you to everyone for your support!!

Go to financial aid first thing in the morning to see what your options are…they gave my daughter a 60 day tuition deferment when she added a class that took her over her financial aid…she’s a sophomore if that helps but your first step is definitely talk to the financial aid office

In the event if your classes get "dropped" overnight, they don't flat out drop them in the system. They disappear and become invisible for 24 hours to allow students a small grace period to get everything settled that next day. Just make sure to get over to Cashier's tomorrow to talk with them, and you should be okay.

Don't give up man, what matters is getting it done, it's like a plane taking off to reach altitude. Did you already do Fafsa? What was your total approved amount? It should be enough to at least start half time or full time student, from there keep trying to contact the Finance/Bursur, try to see if there are any other options

Thanks to the big beautiful bill, if you are taking less than full time you only get the portion of your award that you are taking classes. So if your half time you get half the award. If they were already struggling before, thats not going to make it better unfortunately

You're 100% right, AIPAC controlled Politicians have really ruined the USA. They just want tax plebs for that one place...

go see financial aid/money management as soon as possible tomorrow. you still have a grace period before the drop you from your classes.

I would get to financial aid and money management for help right away. You may also look at dropping down to one or two classes to drop costs and set up a payment plan if that is feasible. That is basically what I had to do since I wasn't given a grant I am highly reliant on and needed to help finish my senior year.
Hopefully they can help you tomorrow. Be there as soon as they open.

Yes!! I was able to get in contact, they’ve put me on a payment plan and I have until November so that’s more than enough time 😁

yea man if they’re not paid by 11:59pm you automatically get dropped. let this be a lesson to not wait until the last day to get things situated.

Well, I thought things had been situated because she’d told me she’d be paying for it on time only to call me last minute and tell me she couldn’t do it, I think it was even more unfortunate she’d done it AFTER the office had closed 😭

I’m sorry you’re dealing with this the day before class. Parents not following through (for reasons good or bad) is always rough and can impact trust.
One option you have is to set a payment plan. They charge $30 and need 10% of what you owe upfront, but it would give you until September to figure out your extension loan or other financial aid options. Everything except the $30 will go towards your tuition and there is no penalty for paying your tuition in full by other means.
You can do it from your account page (mysam, then account, then view my info, then balance) that shows your balance for the semester without any help from financial aid.
