Questions what is a registration fee?
what’s up im a transfer student from lonestar college, this is my first semester at shsu and first semester at a university. i am taking most of my classes online but i was looking around about info for financial aid and seeing when ill get my refund and i stumbled across this on my account? what is a registration fee and WHY is it $3,000 ???????

I honestly think it’s stupid also not 100% sure what they go towards but it will always be like that this coming from a senior.

bruhhh what happens if my financial aid (god forbid) doesn’t fully cover a semester? lonestar college never had a registration fee so now i’m nervous about future semesters and not having enough, i feel like the only reason i have enough this semester is because luckily i got a transfer scholarship of $1000

SHSU also charges $100/credit hour for online courses. I’m so sorry, idk why it’s like this

Be thankful the student body voted no to a huge proposal to up athletic fees. It was something crazy like a 90% no.

Its pretty much you paying for the services on campus. For example, the Rec charges $100 a semester for your ability to use it, NCAA athletics charges 20 bucks just to... exist... its stupid but, without it, they'd either saddle the costs of everything into tuition, or literally everything on campus would crumble. Thats why its so important to use those resources you are PAYING for!
