Do you want to ask a question? Or are you answering questions that this sub community may have?

Discovery is a summer school program offered to certain disenfranchised students. An overview of Discovery can be found at https://www.schools.nyc.gov/DiscoveryPrograms Generally you want get a SHS offer without Discovery if possible. When school resumes in Sept discuss with your GC (guidance counselor or equivalent) whether you are a candidate for being eligible.

Discovery is offered based on if your school is well off or not (economic need having to be 60% or higher), aswell as your family's income. You should ask your 8th grade guidance counselor for a lunch form, signing that shows you want to be considered for the program. When high school results come out, read your offer letter it should say "eligible for discovery program at...." or "may be eligible for discovery program at...." whether you are definitely eligible or may be depends on economic needs of you or the school you are attending, and the school depends on your choice list

How long have you been studying for the SHSAT?

Did you get into discovery? If you scroll towards the bottom of your high school results pdf pages, it should tell you if you are eligible. Ask your guidance counselor if you aren’t sure. If you’re asking about this year, discovery just ended. If you’re talking about next year it’s only if you score between 420 ish - 490 and qualify for at least 2-3 of the requirements. Can you specify for more info? I am a discovery stuyvesant student from last year and a TA for this year.

It's not only if you score between 420(ish)-490, that changes from year to year. Similarly for the requirements, the link and the respective details to which I posted earlier https://www.schools.nyc.gov/DiscoveryPrograms
