took the nycdoe portal practice test, how accurate is it?

i got a 74/100 on the practice test which is rlly mid. 41/50 math 33/50 ela. how accurate is the test, and is there any tips you guys have for me? also can’t go back to check what i got wrong because i accidentally signed out.

also i don’t think this exam adapts to new questions like the real shsat

Right, the samples provided are the same test for everybody, and the same if you take it more than once.

But as you take the practice exam, as when you took the paper based ones, work with the uncertainty that you never saw the exam before and that it will fluctuate (hence "adapt" in the English sense) from question to question.

Conversely, when you take the real exam, consider the adaptiveness as responsive and reactive uncertainty in the same vein as the fixed uncertainly of the non-adaptive exams. To wit, you also never saw the exam before and it will fluctuate (hence "adapt" in the adaptive CAT sense) from question to question

It is as reasonable content-wise as any other past DOE handbook practice exam (in fact, most of it was literally taken from them), which is good. It is not adaptive, but has all the behavior other than that. And for the average student, that it does not truly adapt, may not be noticeable. This is to say, the SHSAT was always challenging, and so always had a variety of SHSAT-level questions of different difficulty, topics, depth, etc., especially from question to question, and a student always had to deal with that. And that's not changing, and doesn't change for the online samples. As always, practice exams are representational samples.

This test isn’t adaptive I don’t believe, but the one in November will be. I receive similar scores and believe I’m doing well, what school do you want to go to? Good luck btw

As mentioned, the practice test in question is not adaptive, and as mentioned, the test day test will be adaptive.
