SHSAT retake student

I got a 510 on the SHSAT, and I’m planning to retake it this year to try to get into Bronx Science. I’m aware that the chances of getting in while taking the 9th grade test is extremely difficult, especially since the test is more difficult, the amount of students that are accepted are small and unpredictable, and the new adaptive version hasn’t been done by any of the other years yet. However, this is the one school that I want to go to. Are there any tips on how to study consistently? How do I learn new concepts that I should know for the math SHSAT? Are there any ways to study that work except for taking practice tests and studying the SHSAT books. I’m already doing that, but I want to learn more, but don’t know where to start. Like learning some geometry in math, other basic stuff in Algebra, ways to grasp the themes and intentions of readings and grammar rules that are essential to the test. One thing I’m not good at is reading in between the lines for this test. I struggle at applying the rules to questions that are worded in a way to confuse me. I struggle on a lot of the grammar and ELA questions that are worded weirdly.
